@henningsillerud oh no! It should be working now.
Brian Bosché@brianpbosche · CEO & Co-Founder Slope
Hi Everyone! I’m Brian, CEO & Co-Founder of Slope. Thanks @erictwillis for hunting us! Slope is a simple way for teams to manage creative work—it combines the power of basic project management with creative collaboration and review tools. Why would we build another project management tool? While we love Basecamp, Trello and similar tools, they just do… See more

Go Slope! :D Congrats on hitting PH How've you guys been?
Kyle Gostinger@kylegostinger · Head of Product, Slope (goslope.com)
@swampsio Thanks! We've been good! Working hard but still having a good time here in Seattle. We miss the old crew from the accelerator all the time. Good memories!
Andrew Jankowski@jankyourchain · Product Manager, MojoTech
@brianpbosche the new product looks great! Congrats on the launch! What do you think are the 1-2 features that set Slope apart from other Project/Task Management tools?
Brian Bosché@brianpbosche · CEO & Co-Founder Slope
@jankyourchain Thanks! The biggest thing that sets us apart is that we have built in creative review and automatic tracking tools. Unlike other project management tools, you can upload and view videos, designs, images, and other creative work, request feedback from different stakeholders, give time-comments and annotations, and control versions. You can also… See more

Love the simplicity of the tool, seems like a bit of Basecamp meets Invision for video? What's your stack?
Kyle Gostinger@kylegostinger · Head of Product, Slope (goslope.com)
@chadwittman Hi Chad. That's a pretty great comparison! We're hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform. We utilize Azure's App Service and Blob storage in conjunction React, Redux, Node, GraphQL, and MySQL.
danielxli@danielxli · Madrona Venture Group
Looks great! how does this work with sharing docs/files with people outside of the company?
Brian Bosché@brianpbosche · CEO & Co-Founder Slope
@danielxli Thanks Daniel! We have a specific permission tier called "Partner", and you can request their feedback/share files with them. Partners can view, comment on, and download only the tasks/files you send them, and you get an unlimited number of free partners. This process is specifically for reviewing files, not editing. We see this a lot with agenci… See more

Love this idea! Creatives have a reputation for being "scatterbrained" -- have you found this to be true? Also curious if Slope works for both small creative shops and agencies alike?
Dan Bloom@dan_bloom · COO & Co-Founder at Slope
@axpence Thanks Alex! Great question. Creatives do tend to have this reputation, but what we’ve found is that they are pulled in so many different directions for each and every project that it’s hard for them to focus on the tasks at hand - which is why built Slope! We combine the project management features with the review/approval so that all of the more "… See more

Love this! I imagine selling to creative teams is tricky. What have you learned about the ways creative teams buy software / vet project management tools?
Brian Bosché@brianpbosche · CEO & Co-Founder Slope
@eawharton Thanks! It’s definitely an interesting sales process. Creative projects are very two sided. Creative and management both need to buy into a product in order to get it into the trial phase. In terms of comparison and vetting, what we usually see is that one person on a team sees a problem with their current process and starts searching for tools t… See more
Alex Stoklas@astoklas · Growth & Product Marketing @ Microsoft
I've used Slope to do several testimonial videos. The tool made it easy for me (a marketing guy) to work with my video team and get from the raw cut to the final video. I liked how simple it was to review/approve the work, all in one place, no searching for emails, confusion with versions etc. Great productivity tool!
Dan Bloom@dan_bloom · COO & Co-Founder at Slope
@astoklas Thanks Alex! We appreciate the support!
Very cool. Excited to explore Slope!

Go @brianpboshche and @dan_bloom! Here's a fun one. How has the transition been from creative agency to software company?
Dan Bloom@dan_bloom · COO & Co-Founder at Slope
@brirud Brian - great question! As alumni of Venture For America, we were taught to solve our own problems. As we dove deeper into the creative world as a creative agency, we got increasingly frustrated with the tools available to us and opted to solve our own problem and started building Slope. Being a technology company is a lot different from being an age… See more

Awesome to see Slope on PH! I originally saw Slope at Techweek Detroit a few years ago -- nothing but great things since.

Ben Gilbert@gilbert · Co-Founder, Pioneer Square Labs
Congrats on the launch! Have you ever thought about building simple video editing tools into Slope as well?
Kyle Gostinger@kylegostinger · Head of Product, Slope (goslope.com)
@gilbert Hey Ben. Thanks! We have discussed it. Right now we want to focus on our strengths which is work management and collaboration. There are a lot of really great tools out there that provide video editing tools. Video is also just one aspect of Slope's capabilities. Many of our customers use it for graphics, imagery, PDFs, documents, and more.
Joe Minock@joeminock · AthleteProgress.com / Rails & JS Dev
I've known the Brian and his team at Slope since their beginning days. I watched them work through all of the phases of customer development, product development, and more. There are a lot of great teams out there and I'd absolutely bundle them into the highest echelon. I mention this as I think it's important to get a sense of what the team is like that has… See more

Dejan Gajsek@dgajsek · Growth Hacker
What kind of teams are the best fit for Slope?
Dan Bloom@dan_bloom · COO & Co-Founder at Slope
@dgajsek Hi Dejan! Creative teams within organizations are really the focus - it’s got much less to do with size. Whether you’re the marketing team of a sports franchise, or a small creative agency, Slope works equally as effectively for both. We’ve found that the creative process, regardless of size, tends to stay the same. We built Slope to make the proces… See more
