    Pros:

Extremely effective for professionals. Vibrant mixed community. Constantly improving and listens to users. Ran by top notch folks

    Cons:

    Could not find yet

It is rare to find a platform which combines so many other goodies from similar services such as Linkedin and social networks. Silo is very unique as it is community of communities which leverages professionals expertise and experience to help each other, grow their network and basically to help others to succeed, learn from example, avoid same mistakes, support others in their early stage or in a switch in career.

The app runs on many OS and devices, constantly improves and very usable.

Users can join specific communities/groups in which they can provide their experience and answer questions or give advice. You can find different groups for geographies, alumni, entrepreneurs, venture capital, hiring mgrs etc.

There are many profiles and professions represented, not necessarily limited to high tech. The more people answer and help others, they are ranked higher. i recommend trying it yourself for sometime and be active as possible, this way you will get most out of it.

    Pros:

Wonderful community of helpful individuals. People really want to help

    Cons:

No tailored solutions - asking for a job, an intro, advice, all looks exactly the same

I love Silo, it's awesome. It's kind of like LinkedIn on steroids - you will actually get people responding when you need something, and you'll find yourself wanting to do the same.

  • Pros:

Great app and service that I continuously use time and time again. A Helpful service like no other. The network effect in its full force.

    Cons:

    /

I use Silo for almost 2 years now, have published many "Asks" and got help in many fronts. I also try to help people with their needs, so Karma!

Really, a great service. Use it.

    Pros:

100% productivity. The right contacts, opportunities and advice in real time.

    Cons:

text based. no cute kitten videos here...

I think that Silo is the evolution of Linkedin. Focused on human interactions around business needs. Members vote up and down to promote and keep spam out and maintain productivity and effective use of time which is key to having high quality and cooperative members. It feels intimate yet huge at the same time. Every ask gets quick relevant and productive responses in a very short time.

    Pros:

Best tool for a startup founder to get exactly what he needs (intro, advice, even users!).

    Cons:

Blank. I'm the rebel - PH message said this can't be blank :)

Silo is like an accelerator to your network of contacts. Joining this marvellous community helps me get focused assistance exactly for the challenges I am facing. In many cases I got help from people outside my real-life/LinkedIn network and that's what makes Silo such a great tool!

  • Pros:

Great community, easy to get help and answers

    Cons:

    None

I've been using Silo for a long time and absolutely love it. It's easy to connect with other people, find intros and get your questions answered. You can grow your network and find opportunities like job offers, investments and more

    Pros:

Great communities, people are active and very helpful, perfect spot for job seekers

    Cons:

    none

I have been using Silo for more than 2 years now and just love it. Real sense of community, users are helpful and always happy to help, make introductions and share ideas.

highly recommended especially for job seeekers

  • Pros:

professional, yet informal network, committed to helping and supporting each other, for the sake of helping. spam free, hustle free.

    Cons:

eliminating spam, "vetting" process is applied. Existing members can invite colleagues - best way to ensure & maintain membership quality.

a safe place to ask, question, seek advice... the topic-specific groups are helpful. encourages people to ask for help from people that they may not know, and are happy to help. leaderboard points are collaboration and support based.

    Pros:

Super engaged community with diverse skill set

    Cons:

Lots of notifications- the more active you are, the more alerts you get

This app brings together a large diverse group of entrepreneurs, service providers and execs from big tech companies. It is far and away the most sincere professional network out there- everyone genuinely wants to assist and very few are simply selling. I use it to supplement LinkedIn, not instead of, but I can imagine a day where Silo is my go-to professional app. I am on Silo at least once a day, sometimes more.

    Pros:

Simple user experience with a common theme that focuses on helping others

    Cons:

Looking forward to seeing the community grow to increase posts' outreach

I've been using Silo for awhile now and enjoy how it has found its niche of helping others in the community fulfill requests of theirs (and mine). It makes for a refreshing social networking experience.

  • Pros:

Valuable community of experts worldwide to help with networking and advice.

    Cons:

They would benefit from more and active members. However, Silo is quite new and their network of members is growing.

With a well thought out and designed app, Silo provides access to a focused group of experts throughout the world who are positive and generous with the time they offer for networking and sharing advice.

  • Pros:

Silo is a great service community and the responses I have received to my asks over the past 2 plus years have been consistently helpful.

    Cons:

Silo is actively seeking and implementing suggestions for improvement, so I think everything's on track for the best Silo yet!

I've used Silo for over 2 years now and am impressed with the quality and cohesiveness of the community. It's high on responsiveness and trustworthiness. Highly recommend.
