@vijay @alexisriols I don't get why everyone is into crowfuding nowadays. It's supposed that entrepreneurs bear the risk to bring a product to market and are not supposed (allowed by market forces) to spread that risk over to their prospective clients by making then fund the venture in advance for a hat and a "discount".
With the existing scheme the crowfunders are getting a really raw deal: they bare most, if not all the financial risk of the venture with not title ( —not even interest bearing debt) other than an not binding promise to "deliver at some date in the future a changing product" and if thing go wrong they don't see a cent or product and when things go very well they do not get any of the upside (ask the crowfunders of Oculus)...
Crowfunders wake up, you are actually seeding capital. And you are being taken for a ride, be wiser and ask for shares not hats and t-shirts. Ok, keep an option to exchange part of the shares for the product at a minimum price or market value if its higher.

@abetancort @alexisriols Well, at least with Bixi we are making sure that we start the production phases (already started now) and then do the campaign so that on-time delivery is guaranteed.

@vijay @alexisriols My comment it was not about your company, but a more general appreciation of the intrinsic flaws of crowdfunding as we know it nowadays. I wish you the best.
By the way using a crowfunding campaign as a mean to sell/market a deliverable is a marketing strategy, not a funding strategy, aimed at rising awareness, perception of scarcity, exclusivity, discounted prices, early access but that is not the main goal of most of the crowdfunding.

@abetancort @alexisriols yes, fully agree.. it shouldn't be used as a funding source.. but mainly for awareness and proof-of-traction

The smart phones as we know them will disappear! We will start interacting with the virtual world with non intrusive displays in our glasses (or VR devices) and motion gesture! Just imagine sitting on a train and being able to browse your contact list and make a call. Write a quick tweet. Play your favourite game... All that with your hands inside your pockets. Can't wait!
