Two years ago, we launched an API to empower the creative and curious Product Hunt community to extend discovery beyond producthunt.com. It’s been fun to see what people build, from a "Tinder for Product Hunt" app (by @spyuchan) to a destination of dead products, appropriately named Product Haunt (by @jsneedles and @fredrivett). We’re taking this a step further with the introduction of Cards. Now you can embed products and comments anywhere on the web. Just click the button in the top right of the product page, and copy+paste the code into your site. If you’re on Medium, it’s even easier. Just paste the product URL (e.g. https://www.producthunt.com/tech...) and hit ENTER. You can see an example of this on Medium here. ✨ Would love to hear everyone’s feedback and ideas! 🙏🏼

@rrhoover That's awesome !! Congrats on the launch Product Hunt Team 👏 Product Hunt Cards will be so useful on Medium but also on personal websites for makers and news articles. Can't wait to use them. It's great to see Product Hunt getting better and better 🔥

@rrhoover This is awesome, Cant wait to write my next This Week on Product Hunt post using Product Hunt Cards. Would love an option to remove media and embed just the Product title, tagline & upvote button . Would be helpful since in my weekly posts I pick my top 3-5 favorite products for each day of the week. Might make it a long post to read if media is on every embed :)

@rrhoover love this! IMO this is massive Ryan. Curious to see how this impacts growth for Product Hunt over time. I'd imagine the click-thru rate for one of these to be much higher than a regular ol' href

@joshmuccio thanks, Josh! Independent of the CTR, Cards give us more visibility into what people are sharing and how visitors are engaging with various products and comments.

@rrhoover @spyuchan @jsneedles @fredrivett --- This is one of my favorite PH update so far...:) Wow, great work guys..:) Suggestion: I have seen on several Advertisement banner embeds, you'll get 3-4 options to choose. For example "embed 1" will be detailed and large, while "embed 4" will be short and contains only a small headline. If PH could make the choosable embeds for posts, it would be great ..:) I don't know how hard it is to implement on posts, it's just a suggestion. As of now, it looks great and bloggers gonna love it..:)

@ramkumarhq we'd like to add an option to embed a smaller card that excludes the video and gallery.

@restuta @rrhoover Hey Anton - The "cards service" as we're calling it is a Node.js/React application. We use Webpack to produce very small JS and CSS bundles for each of the different card types (posts/comments) and then inline these bundles into their respective pages. For our Medium integration, we're now an Embedly provider. Thanks for the feedback!

@k1ix this is so, so awesome. Can you share any more detail? I've been considering doing this for a project and it'd be awesome to see the tech behind such a great implementation!

@rrhoover love these! Such a smart idea and great job executing! We just put one on our post announcing our new hunt! (https://medium.com/cointent-micr...) The logo image is HUGE though... and makes it kind of ugly. :'( Your example post actually would have been, too, if it weren't a fancy GIF. http://screencast.com/t/Y09Jfz00HX Do you have any specs or recommendations for size of that image?
