Pocket Sky

A wearable that helps your mood through light

Pocket Sky works just like the sun: It uses soft blue light to suppress the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. This is the most natural way for enhancing your wakefulness, performance and well-being in only 20 minutes a day.
👋 Hello Product Hunters, we are super happy to be here! I am part of the team and we recently launched with Pocket Sky on Kickstarter! Pocket Sky helps adjust your body clock by suppressing the production of melatonin, a sleep hormone. Seize the benefits of biologically active light to: ✅ improve your performance ✅ brighten your mood, especially in winter ✅ resync your inner clock to defeat jet lag ✅ improve your sleep-wake cycle ✅ in just 20 min/day It's absolutely safe for your eyes and tested according to EN 62471:2008. Pocket Sky builds on longstanding science on chronobiology, most recently recognized by the 2017 Nobel prize in Physiology or Medicine. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer :)
This is super cool, keep up the good work!
Loved this 🔥 I just pre-ordered mine! Can’t wait to add this to my morning routine 👨‍💻
@leemubb @miriamboubi @hans_jorg_hummer hi. how does this compare to Luminette, which is already available on Amazon? I have this already: https://amazon.com/Luminette-Bri...
@_jacksmith Hi there! There are several differences between the Luminette and Pocket Sky. Let me just point out the four that seem most important to us: 1) Design: That is a matter of taste, of course. As we developed Pocket Sky really focused a lot on simplicity and beauty, making our product wearable anytime and anywhere. 2) Light intensity: Pocket Sky only has one level of intensity, which is 500 LUX. Since we reduced our LEDs to emit bioactive blue light, this is enough to achieve the activating and mood-improving effect. 3) Mobility: Pocket Sky charges wirelessly in its case. You only have to charge the case every 14 days. Also, the case is smaller than a smartphone and weighs only 90 grams. 4) Usability: Pocket Sky activates itself when you take it out of its case and turns off automatically after 20 minutes. That way you don't need to keep track of usage with your watch or an app. I hope I could help you with my answers! Have a bright day, Mark
@leemubb oh wow, so Pocket sky is only 500 lux vs up to 10,000 LUX with Luminette - doesn't that mean that your's is way less powerful?
@_jacksmith Hey, this is Harry from Pocket Sky. No, sorry, there's a misunderstanding there: Luminette write that they have "the same results as a 10.000 LUX-lamp". The same goes for Pocket Sky! Both products work with much less LUX, which is made possible by extracting the blue light frequency of daylight. Does that answer your question? :)
Hello Product Hunters, I am part of the team that has developed Pocket Sky in the past years - and proud and relieved to have finally launched it. I am an avid user, too, so check it out!
@hans_jorg_hummer hey, congrats for the launch! How long before going to sleep would you recommend that we stop wearing it?
@hans_jorg_hummer @krisz_o Hi Krisztina! This is Mark. To be on the safe side you should not wear it 2 hours before going to sleep.
@hans_jorg_hummer @leemubb and does it have some kind of interaction with other stimulants, like caffeine? Would you recommend not to drink coffee for example, while using pocket sky?
@krisz_o Hi Krisztina, there are no interactions. There is absolutely no problem with drinking coffee or other stimulating drinks like black tea or even energy drinks while using Pocket Sky. But if you like, of course you can of course substitute coffee and other stimulant with Pocket Sky! :)
