Seriously, why developers are still releasing apps just on iOS ? Not just about this project...

@valdecarpentrie average revenue per user is 10x to 100x higher on iOS vs Android. So most launch on iOS first and then make an Android version.

@joshdance Thanks for this answer ! Well, that's logical. But it's still the same with free apps without in-app purchase... And I think the number of users on Android could be a great asset too, compared to the one of iOS users.

@valdecarpentrie that's an easy answer. Because Apple maintains the updates on their devices after a few months 70% of the platform is running the latest OS which as a developer means you don't have to test a bajillion OS versions. @valdecarpentrie Some apps (not sure about this one) are developed by one or two people. Maybe they have no experience in Android and/or they simply prefer just operating in one ecosystem. If I was building a service based on in-app subscription purchases, I'd absolutely launch on iOS first given how much more revenue is available there.

@valdecarpentrie If the app is free, with no plans of monetization, then supporting Android is still 10x harder than supporting iOS. There are basically 2 OSs you have to support on iOS. 5 or more on Android  See more

@joshdance @valdecarpentrie that is a bit dramatic. supporting android is really not that hard at all. you certainly do not need to be actively supporting 5 separate builds in the way you are alluding to.
