The idea comes from the fact that I've been building API's for such a long time, I found out that basically all start up projects needed the same kind of simple API. I figured it would save me so much time and effort (and the customer money) if I could just generate the end points needed through a couple of clicks. Of course one of the main features it should have is that it would be customizable at a later stage.
The name comes from the latin name for the Common Magpie, which is somewhat of a local thing here in the north east of England, UK. For example Newcastle United are also commonly called the Magpies. So basically I thought it was relevant for my location.
