An offering in the same category as Flic (http://www.producthunt.com/posts...)
From the Perphekt website:
"At a party? Take 50 blurry photos and hope theres one good one in there. Trying to capture that perfect sunset? Take three more, just to make sure it looks perfect.
Upload your pictures. We'll process them for you and organise them for you and YOU then get to pick the best image out of a set!
You now have an album in your phone with only the BEST images. Easily upload your whole album without having to manually sift through them!"
Hey Pieter! Thanks for posting my app! Although this is really exciting that some people are noticing my app, to be honest I never really meant for it to be released to the world (yet). I was just working on this as a side project (still in University) and trying to release an app for fun and to see what it's like in the startup side of the world! Didn't think it would gain this much traction with literally 0 advertising!
It's very humbling to be posted here and just know that this isn't anywhere NEAR a finished product yet! There's still a lot more to come!
Some things still on my feature list:
-iOS version
-Redesign UI/UX (currently its just "there" to facilitate testing)
-Add ability to store photos
-Give users FREE space to store photos!
-Ability to share photos
-Better (and faster) image processing algorithms
@PieterPaul Haha sure. To be honest, it's nothing groundbreaking. Currently, I just the python imaging library (PIL) to basically analyze the images. It's a pretty greedy algorithm that could definitely be optimized and improved.
As for filtering out the best ones, I have yet to do that (it's in the works). I have come up with ideas to process by blurriness (compute a gradient "score") and look at lighting of some images (compute a contrast "score"). As for now, nothing I've done is groundbreaking in any sense for image processing. I definitely plan on improving my algorithms!
