What do people think of Peel?
After owning several of the Peel cases for iPhone 6 & 7, I've noticed the case begins to crack near the charging port and warp near the power on/off and volume switches. I wouldn't mind if the product was priced slightly cheaper but the current pricing puts it at a point that you expect it to last more than a few months.
Peel is by far the lowest quality phone case I've ever used, and contacting their customer support was a truly agonizing and unproductive experience.
UPDATE: Received a replacement product and experienced the charging issues. Got the Morphie wireless charger base and it works 10x better.
I just received my order today and the packaging was beautiful.
The problem is if you don't place it exactly in a certain way on the pad, it charges for a second and then stops. So while I had it on the charger for over 1.5 hours, when I came back to it, it still showed ~15% charge because wasn't it placed down properly (a certain amount of the phone surface area needs to stick out on both sides).
Even after I tried re-placing my iPhone, I had to move it around a couple of times in order ensure it remains in charging mode.
This hasn't happened to me yet, but imagine leaving your phone on the charging pad at night only to wake up to a low battery phone right before heading out.
Bottom line: So far it looks like its actually just easier to charge it the traditional way. Assuming that I didn't get a defect product, I'm going to reach out to peel to request a refund, as this charging experience creates more stress than making it easier.
The case started warping after a month. Pretty ridiculous given the price tag and how long it took them to ship.
The charger doesn't come with a wall adapter, which isn't a problem if you've had a few iPhones over the years. I plugged it in with the standard issue iPhone 5W outlet adapter and it worked! For a couple seconds before it stopped charging. I left it overnight just in case, but no dice. I emailed their support and submitted a replacement request, but didn't hear back for a few days. Tweeting at them worked almost instantaneously, however.
Anyway, I tried the 12W iPad wall outlet and it now seems to work. That said, there was no instruction from what I saw on the product page nor help centre, warning me that my iPhone outlet adapter wouldn't work at all.
You can't expect the thinnest case to be extremely protective or durable, but after 5 or so drops one of the corners cracked. Anywhere the plastic hit the ground it developed those white hardened spots like when you bend plastic back and forth. After a couple of months the case was ugly and not really worthwhile. Seems like you might as well go caseless.
Bought one for the 6S, started to separate from the phone after use, like it was too big for it. Got a replacement and it happened again. Wouldn't recommend.
This thing is very brittle, and will break quickly, might be ok if it came in a pack of say 5 so every time you broke one you could replace it.
