Am I the only one who finds this a tad creepy?
Liron Shapira@liron_shapira
@gloom303 I hear ya. We moderate everything to remove all personally-identifiable details and offensive content before it can get publicly posted. We hope to make Tinder a better, less-creepy place by teaching good conversation skills.

@liron_shapira @gloom303 This seems extremly creepy and feels as if it would elevate the objectification of women as it "grows" I don't get the "advice" element that is outside of objectification....what advice is suppose to be presented? Just see this being abused excessively by men.

@nicholassheriff @gloom303 First of all there's nothing male- or female-specific about Nosy; we don't yet know which gender will use it more more. I don't think it's accurate to say that advice = objectification. The right advice is often something like "ask about the person's interests" and "don't talk about sex (yet)". This is also what I mean about helpin… See more

@liron_shapira @gloom303 Hi Liron, I wasn't at all speculating I went to the website clicked around and was reading what I saw...I was assuming that was not a prototype in the sense of they're being fake users are bots in display right at this minute and that was why I made the comment that I mad. I never said that advice = objectification I actually pointe… See more

@liron_shapira @nicholassheriff @gloom303 I'm sure your intent is to have people learn to be "less creepy," but when I went to the site to see for myself it was pretty troubling. There are screenshots where a girl was sending her phone number to someone she's talking to on Tinder and it's just up on the site for anyone to see. Seems like a pretty gross inv… See more

@liron_shapira I also noticed you discussing how to blow off a lunch with someone. I can see their profile picture in the thread even if you blurred out their name. Is this really the reputation you want to have? Imagine how that person would feel if they clicked on your site and saw that. Maybe this doesn't bother you, but anyone interested in investing i… See more

@sydne_sullivan Thanks for pointing out that there was a visible phone number in one of the rooms; it seems to have gotten past our moderation process and has now been blurred. We have a strictly-enforced policy of no personally identifiable information on the site. Each room must pass moderation *before* becoming publicly visible, and we have also implemen… See more

@liron_shapira Glad you blurred out her phone number in response to my post here, but doesn't change the fact that it was up there for a month already and I could view it without having a login.

@liron_shapira What is that moderation process? I noticed you had personally commented on that post and it sat up there for a month before I said anything.

@sydne_sullivan Here is a video of the moderation process: https://v.usetapes.com/FqW4eXlIEj Note that during the pre-beta development process, we hadn't yet implemented moderation, so we've gone back retroactively moderated everything.
