Reviews
  • Pros:

    - major music streaming services - nice ui/ux - easy to use - basically Station for music services

    Cons:

    - Disabled shortcut throughout the whole app O_O

Muzie is a nifty little app for music lovers, however the fact that ALL keyboard shortcuts are disable makes it hard to share a link or even login into the different services if you use password manager generated passwords. Appart from that, very cool app

    Pros:

The concept of 1 app to rule related services (a la Station) is the future

    Cons:

Low probability to use more than 2 apps for Music Not possible to remove/add services from the left bar

Why not to make it the Station for Entertainment (Music + Video + Web games + Gossip websites...).

👋 Hi everyone! I'm excited to share with you something I've been working on for some time now. I just launched Muzie | The all in one music streaming app 🎉. Muzie is a desktop app that puts all the popular music streaming services in one place, like Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud, Google Music, Amazon... You can download Muzie from here https://muzie.netlify.com/ I built Muzie because I like to listen to music from different services, and I don't like downloading 4-5 different apps or jumping between browser tabs to see which one is playing music. Muzie is at an early stage with plenty of features and improvements to come. Your feedback is highly appreciated to help me decide what features to build next. Have a great day 🙌

First thoughts: - How is this any different than opening 10 tabs in chrome and having these services open? - It needs a universal player / playlist so that I can choose songs from each platform and play them - No search, comes back to my first point there doesn't seem to be any difference than a bunch of chrome tabs Sorry for being so critical, but the idea is solid if you can figure out how to make it a universal control.

Thanks @anton_bacaj for the honest feedback. I have personally tried both approaches, browser tabs are hard to find and control compared to a dedicated app. Don't forget that this is just the initial version, I preferred to launch an MVP first and get feedback from awesome users like yourself to help me decide what features are more valuable. Global search is already on the list of features to build next as suggested by other users as well. Stay tuned!

The Learn more button on the PH page is an S3 link to a .dmg file. This is misleading and unsecure it should open a new page or the button should be called Download. @rrhoover

@rrhoover @ouadieboussaid oops... not sure how it got there. Removed now. Thanks for pointing it out.

Like the idea but again where's the socialization. It feels like you're creating a solution for a problem that doesn't really exist. Build out a cross function that allows people to do more than just play music. Where's the socialization? Where's the ability for the artist to share music with fans? There's nothing about this that is any different from the myriad of other products. If you have all these APIs incorporated into one place then why not allow people to socialize around it. Build something that allows me to create a playlist with a friend of mine who has Apple Music.

Reminds me of Harmony. How is Muzie different/better ?

Hi @tgerin. I haven't seen Harmony before, just tried it. The idea is a bit similar in that it tries to make all streaming services accessible from one app. The main difference is Harmony built their own interface, while Muzie keeps the same interface of the services that the user is already familiar with. Give it a try to have a better idea.
