This looks soooo much cleaner and the addition of real-time chat is super interesting but I don't see myself ever using it. No disrespect to LinkedIn but connections are too loose on the platform, with people I met once at a conference when I was 21. I'm afraid chat would be distracting. @rrhoover Loose connections are a choice. I only connect with people I could recognize or point another person towards (aside from recruiters...but even then I cull the ones that I've worked with and drop the rest).

@rrhoover yes connections are a problem and LinkedIn should have had some rigorous rules around it. As a working professional, LinkedIn adds zero value to me. At best it is monster 2.0. The platform has been abused.

@rrhoover Much much cleaner. I totally agree with you on connection being too loose - particularly for people such as myself who have completely switched industries. I can see how chatting with people from same groups could be useful but then again in a business setting chatting seems a bit weird... But all in all its a good change for LinkedIn.

@wilhempujar @rrhoover I agree. In most cases people accept invites if they see some level of connection (mutual connections, school, work etc). Interested in seeing how the new feature works out.

@rrhoover Linkedin is a good online address book and that's it. I just wrote a story on why we need a new professional network - https://hackernoon.com/why-we-ne...

@rrhoover nonetheless, any improvement to the UI is better than the previous iteration.
