There's no point to make a iOS workouts app without a Watch app.

@lionyoung1987 Well, as someone who doesn't have nor plan to have a smartwatch, this is useful for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@lionyoung1987 Can't say that I agree being how many people use their iPhones at the gym and don't own an Apple Watch, but it would be awesome if it had a companion Watch app in the future

@mrmikehalligan I see what you mean. But as a guy who goes to gym on a regular basis should tell you the watch(any smart watch at this point) feels so much better and can do a lot more activities without putting a phone in the pocket if you know what I mean...

@jmkcc give the watch a try(even Pebble), you'll see what I mean and it's just way more accurate than having the phone in your pocket. Especially with the heart rate censor and stuff...

@lionyoung1987 I'm with you. I use my Apple Watch at the gym, but the larger market is still non-smartwatch users by an enormous margin and the founding team see enough opportunity in that market. From the sounds of it I'm sure that they'll end up with an Apple Watch app to go with it.

@mrmikehalligan But then the "larger market" don't even go to gym... 😄 but yeah, I guess you're right, if it's an niche enough market, they should do just fine. But looking back in the past few years, things like Moves( which was my favorite for a long time), Runtastic and etc. have been acquired by those Giants, there's just simply not enough room for small health app to grow enough margin in terms of competing with them. On the other hand, companies like Pebble is doing alright after all those years since their Kickstarter time. It all made me think that maybe the software(apps in this case) are far more insignificant than the hardware. For me and most of my friends, we complain about the slowness of the Apple Watch hardware way often than any third party apps on it, since there is not any 3-rd party apps we can't live without...

@lionyoung1987 Really good insight. I'm the founder of a health app myself. At this point I think it'll be near impossible to succeed with a slightly better app than the rest. Health apps that do well from here on in will be so much better at helping users achieve their goals than anything that exists now

@lionyoung1987 Disagree. I don't have a Watch app. I love workout Apps and have used one for a year and a half. Apple Watch has sold 7 million units. The total number of iPhones sold in Q1 of 2016, was 74.78 million. Watch apps are awesome but they are not essential yet. 😀
