I think this product is a scam. If so, it is disgusting. I believe it is a scam because my 'live' plot image is identical to the image shown in the app's on-boarding.

Powerful idea. I wish I zoom in an out to the ocean and also tells me which blocks are taken and still vacant, So I could search other blocks.
An Idea: Wouldn't it be easier if the app developers would use some kind of image comparison and once it notices something on the grid that belongs to a user it can send a push to check it out.
An app that crowd-sources the search of the sea for migrants by giving access to the satellite image of the sea to smart phone users.

Cant this kind of processing be automated with some decent image recognition software? Surely faster/better than the crowd (which would need massive scale to be truly effective)

How old are the satellite images? Once identified, can the boats be reach and the migrants helped?
