Hey everyone πŸ‘‹ , Regular expressions are real; hate it or love it. I used to spend hours trying to craft the perfect expression for my scraping projects not realizing that I don't really know regex. This tool is a cheat sheet that also explains the commonly used expressions so that you understand it. - There is a visual representation of the regular expression (thanks to regexpr) - The application shows matching strings which you can play around - Expressions can be edited and these are instantly validated Looking forward to your feedback, Geon George :)
@gauthamzzz Thank you Gautham <3
@geon_george Couldn't help but chuckle reading this part about "I used to spend hours trying to craft the perfect expression for my scraping projects not realizing that I don't really know regex." I'd wager you know a lot more about regex now? This is the developer's curse. We are always trying to fix the things that make our lives difficult when a lot of times it's not our expertise.
@rayliverified I would say I know a way more than I used to before I started the project. But I wouldn't still hire myself as a "regex expert". Whoever invented this thing is smart but people like me using it gave it a bad reputation
@geon_george Thank you so much for making this tool :)
Even if you don't actually hate regex this can be really useful. Especially the visual representation can help understanding what is really happening in that weird two-liner expression you wrote three years ago. Also there's several examples that can help you get started. Good idea for improvement would be some kind of drag and drop UI for making new expressions. Keep it going :)
@boris_belaj Thank you very much. I'm also planing to addd features like codepen where users can add their own regex "pens"
Good one
@sawyer_ford Thank you Sawer
