Hi everyone! I'm heading product development at HousingAnywhere and we're grateful to be featured here. Thanks @dyaa_me for hunting us! Our peer-to-peer marketplace brings landlords and students together all over the world. Finding housing abroad is a big struggle, especially when you cannot visit to view your new accommodation. We allow landlords and students to message each other directly (we're not an intermediary). Students confirm their booking by paying the first month's rent through HousingAnywhere, which we only payout to the landlord after they have moved in. If the room/apartment is not as advertised, we offer a full money-back guarantee, in which case we refund the first month's rent and our service fee. Of course, our team also helps to book a new place if that happens. However, this set of rules is proving to work quite in our marketplace, as we hardly have any of such cases.

I know they are a hardworking company, that is growing fast, and have been able to grow past the big problem of chicken/egg that all marketplaces face. That alone deserves praise!

Solves a real problem: wish this was around when I went on Student Exchange

- none yet

There are quite a number of platform like this, but for majority of people. Based on my experience, tenant always want to check out the room first before they make a booking, as we know Photoshop make picture look far away from reality. So it's never the case people click on "Booked" directly. I think the problem is after I booked, how do you guarantee it would not disappoint me when I arrived.
@sskf90 yes. This agency does Not facilitate the viewing. We wanted to see the place and were rejected! Then had problems with the advertised standard, when moving in!
