Nice overview in WIRED. I've heard great things about Herman Miller but not sure I could justify $780.

@rrhoover have you sat in one ? If yes, have you used one all day? These chairs are akin to softly but with subtle firmness being slowly cradled in front of your desk by the Greek gods Aengus and Eutchia !

@rrhoover agree w/ @hgottfried until you've sat in one for 8+ hrs and then used something else you cant see the value. It's worth all $780+.
Francesco Napoletano@napolux · Web && iOS dev
@rrhoover the chair is magical. I'm lucky enough to have one under my *ss all day @ work. I would not exchange it for anything.

@rrhoover I bought a used one a few years ago from a office that was going out of business. I've never sat in a chair like this before. I will happily spend the money to get a new one. If you sit in a chair all day, your body will thank you if you sit in this chair. You have to try one out, it's simply wonderful!

@rrhoover I've had one for a decade and there's not a blemish on it. Considering the Bajillion hours I've spent comfortably working from it $780 is the deal of a century. Also, I think I paid about that much for it back then. So the price has barely budged. :)

@rrhoover just keep an eye out on craigslist, always some on there for $280-$350. Bought 2 there so far :-)
Eric Fleming@ericf_ · CTO, Traitify
@rrhoover Agreed with the other comments, well worth the price. I've bought chairs at office supply stores, ikea, etc and they don't last very long, plus they give me back pain after a while. I bought my Aeron used and expect to get another 5-10 years out of this 6 year old chair. Well worth the $300 I spent.

@rrhoover Have also the opposite. Sadly I have never tried one for a longer time myself.

@rrhoover call up a local distributor, they offer significant company discounts, starting at startup friendly lower volumes. Like 20-50% off on 5+.
Taylor Martin@caspertek · CNET/The Best Damn Coffee/MOD/Untethered
@rrhoover I sat in one almost every day for a year. It's nice, but not worthy of the price. I'd prefer a standing desk over the Aeron.
Brad Brooks@ninthart · Graphic Designer, Grafica by the Sea
@rrhoover I've got to agree with most everyone. The Aeron has been the best investment I've ever made. I've had mine for nearly ten years, and it's still as comfortable as the day I bought it.

I had an older model and it is best chair I ever had no doubt. Second hand market is there and at a much lower price mark, so maybe you don't need the newest model to enjoy them!

@rrhoover After extensive research on chairs, I decided to buy an Aeron.. found a local retailer, went in to buy one and to my everlasting regret walked out with a Herman Miller Mirra 2. It's just not the Aeron.
Jesse Williams@j_r_wi11iams · VP of Marketing, Adjoy.
@jcwinter really? I'm going to have to check into that... I want one for everyday of the week.
Adam Rasheed@arasheedphoto
@rrhoover You can pick up used one on Craigslist for ~$300. I'm sure in a year or so, you'll bel able to get these used for ~$500
Ahmad Awais@mrahmadawais · Full Stack Dev— WordPress Core Developer
@rrhoover After customization with all the features, it goes up to $1300. That's what you want, or I do, but I also could not justify that much for a chair.
BRI∆N ROSS@notbrain · Principal, Intrinsic Bits
@rrhoover are you paying yourself enough or do you just not sit down much?
