Cool neon: http://www.coolneon.com sells a variety of parts to make stuff like this, it's super easy to work with and really fun—but anything that requires a soldering iron is obviously too complicated to be a consumer product.
I'm excited to see a product using this type of tech (maybe the same thing?) that looks sweet and is actually useful.
@willimholte Great share. Cool neons got some really fun things to offer and amazing diy products!
The Halo Belt utilizes fiber optics rather than electroluminscent tape or wire. Using fiber optics allows the Halo Belt to be incredibly durable, flexible, and also does not need an external battery converter, which makes it extremely lightweight (roughly about 4 ounces including the entire belt). All it needs is an LED that shines through the fiber optic and a tiny lithium battery to power it.
