This really looks like a great Bible app - excited to try it out! I think that the ability to tap a verse and get commentary on that specific verse is probably the single best feature. Interested to see how you use the community for engagement like genius.com does, although you have to be careful to ensure quality contributions. I would imagine you'll just have to curate those. Congrats on launching the Kickstarter!

Hello Product Hunt, and thanks to @katesegrin and @lukasfittl from PH for your help and @kevinfischer for posting. We began working on a complete redesign and rearchitecture of glo more than 6 months ago. We started working on glo with the vision of creating a Bible app that was visually simplified and feature rich. At its core, there are millions of pieces of content from sermons, artwork, photographs, commentaries, maps and more that are connected to bible verses that have never before been compiled into one place and tagged. We put together a team of world class designers and developers together and are building an app for iOS, android, and web. Here are just some features that we have: Explore each verse - Thousands of multimedia resources behind every piece of Scripture. Premium Content - Resources from Zondervan, Intervarsity Press, Crossway, Francis Chan, and more! Open Source for Content Creation - You or your ministry/church can publish sermons, videos, reading plans, etc. Commentaries - Dive deep into each passage through a library of commentaries. Video - From sermons to virtual tours, we’ve got you covered. Fast and Powerful Search - Search by topic, phrase, verse, or book to quickly find what you are looking for. Audio Bible - Sometimes listening to the Bible brings to light new insight. Share - Encourage your community by sharing verses or media. Reading Plans - Our reading plans help you stay on top of your daily reading. I've posted some new web screens on Product Hunt that we've never shown before, so take a look at some of the images when you get a chance. We are currently flying through development but need your support on Kickstarter (click on the more info link up top for more details) to make the new glo a reality. Thank you so much and let me know if you have any questions on twitter at @edenchen or feel free to leave a comment here.

@edenchen edited: I just saw you basically answered my question below in regards to how is this app different from other apps that have the same or similar functionality already. Cheers!

@natesmoyer @edenchen hey nathan, great question, main differences have to do with the types of content that we are putting in our app. We have sermons, commentaries, videos, artwork, maps, virtual tours, design themes, and much more. I would say that because Faithlife's roots are in the scholar community their app tends to be more geared towards scholars. There are tons of other differences from the UI/UX, the design, we are preloading the ESV translation, the way our search works and much more but those are just some of the differences. Thanks!

@edenchen Rad! Thanks for the prompt response. Best wishes to you and the team!

Will love to see how it competes/compliments the Bible App of YouVersion

As a former part of the YouVersion Bible app team, this is awesome. Love new ideas and iterations on the oldest printed book.
