GitHub has enhanced the developer experience in many ways, from PRs to GH Actions, tracking issues for a given project, and more. I feel like we take a lot of these types of platforms for granted.
great repo management for my obsidian vault
In response to "What's your #1 software development tool? π»"
Writing the code is step 1 but the tools that GitHub provides, especially around actions and workflows, are essential to my software development strategy and make CI/CD that much easier with the same tool I'm alreaddy using for version control.
Awesome repository for developers. Am making use of it 247. Thanks to GitHub
GitHub is an essential and invaluable platform for developers and teams alike. As a version control system, it has revolutionized how we collaborate on projects and manage code.
What's there to say, GitHub is the house of Software Development for the whole world and it's a great community where talent and fantastic ideas meet and create great products.
Despite the very user-unfriendly recent wave of UI changes, GitHub is essential to collaboration & staying productive while building my apps.
I am a bit biased as I worked at GitHub for 9 years. I have to say, though, GitHub is fabulous. I cannot even remember how I was working and collaborating on code before GitHub. If I had to pick on something I'd say there's still room for innovation. Especially around code reviews and discussing code.
GitHub is a cornerstone for collaboration in the world of coding and software development. It's a platform that allows developers to host, review, and manage code, making it easier for teams to work together on projects. The ability to track changes, manage versions, and collaborate seamlessly through features like pull requests and issue tracking is invaluable. Plus, its community aspect fosters knowledge-sharing and open-source contributions. It's a powerhouse for developers, enabling efficient teamwork and project management.
