How does it compare to the powerhouse that is GIPHY?

@bentossell I can't comment on the search itself, but I've run @gifbase since 2012, back when it pre-dated GIPHY. @gifbase is more about carefully curated and tagged gifs, rather than auto scraped and auto-tagged gifs on GIPHY. Quality over quantity if you will. Excited to see that somebody built this cool search around the API :)

@ummjackson @gifbase oooo niiiice! I do like the idea of quality over quantity - GIFs can be hard to search for!

@bentossell Yeah, in a way gifbase.com has become a gif bookmarking service for a few passionate gif lovers (namely @christinericks). I always find the tagging more reliable than doing a /giphy search in Slack, which is the Wild West for inappropriate gif embeds.

@bentossell as Jackson says, gifbase holds quality over quantity which is very important. I built gifMe as a lightweight tool to search for gifs via tags, and nothing more. Glad you guys like it!

This is awesome! I'm actually the creator/maintainer of @gifbase and wasn't aware of this search until I saw it show up on PH. Nice work :)
