Happy to share with you Favro, a product made by a startup of Uppsala (Sweden). @PatricPalm and @RoydenJames please tell us more about Favro. Why did you decide to build it? Was it a kanban type app from day one?

@jasondainter Ain't that the truth 👍

Hmmm, is this a bit like Trello? What are the differences?

@dominicquentin we love Trello. Its easy to use, and very intuitive. But we found that with that simplicity came some draw backs. So we decided to take a concept like what Trello has done to another level. We have added some pretty awesome features that make Favro as easy to use, but powerful enough to take on enterprise (teams of teams). Features such as backlogs, live boards, card linking, multiple boards to name a few, as well as integrations with apps such as slack, google drive, hip chat and Github. On the surface Favro seems easy and light weight, but dig a bit deeper and you will see where it start coming into its own.

@roydenjames Ok that sounds nice. I just made an account and gonna try it out. I do already like the multiple board set-up! Is there a way to import stuff from Trello by any chance?

@dominicquentin There is a way, at the moment we are limited to how Trello exports the data, but you can import and exported Trello board into Favro. In the top menu where you create a new board, there is an option to import Trello boards as JSON files.

@roydenjames Awesome stuff! Thanks!

@dominicquentin Hi there, just following up on your experience. How did the trial go?

@roydenjames @dominicquentin What are your thoughts on adding an Evernote integration? I know it's more of a pain than G Drive...
Lauren L Perfors@laurenlperfors · President of Lawton Digital
@roydenjames @dominicquentin Nevermind, I found your public roadmap from another comment reference, I'll look there :-) Great tool, stoked about something more sophisticated than Trello.

@laurenlperfors currently we are finishing up the last few things on our API and web hooks which means integrations will be coming thick and fast. Evernote has not quite made it onto the backlog yet but Zapier is high on the list which could be a step in the right direction at least. How would you see a good integration with Evernote and Favro working?

@laurenlperfors glad you like Favro. Plenty of awesome stuff coming very soon. So stay tuned

@roydenjames Am working on importing from Trello. Our team relies heavily on Trello's Google Drive integration. I see that Favro also offers it, but when I export from Trello and import to Favro, all of our card's attachments are lost. Is there a way to import that includes maintaining G Drive attachments?

@laurenlperfors at the moment we do not handle attachments on an import as we would need to really have a migrate feature to get all that information. However to get all the google drive stuff across wouldn't be that hard to do. Only problem with that is that functionality doesn't exist so it doesn't really solve your problem right now. We will up vote that functionality in the backlog as a core improvement though, and if you like I can let you know when that would become available.

@roydenjames For Evernote reply: Thanks for the fast reply! Having a link to Evernote that allows us to "attach" a note, much like we attach Drive files. The advantage to the integration is largely UI - the ease of having the nice-looking link, the title of the note pulling through and a click-through option to open the note using Evernote's public link feature. I'm not too sure of the limitations of Evenote's API, BUT it would be extra awesome to be able to choose between opening the link on the web (for our clients) and opening it on the MAC desktop app (for our internal team and partners). Evernote's desktop app is far more robust and speedy than the web version, so we usually only edit our notes files via the MAC app. I know app links are possible, but I am ignorant on how complicated it may be :-)

@roydenjames Google Drive attachment in Trello import reply: Thanks Royden! Yes, we would be interested in that. We have at least one Google Drive file attached to every single Trello card we have, so it would be a big time saver for us. To be transparent, it wouldn't likely be a deal breaker... but it would save me lots of money as the business owner as I wouldn't need to pay an admin for the 3-5 hours it would likely take to manually re-attach each file to it's appropriate card in Favro after import. For scalability to convert users from Trello to Favro, if my agency were much larger, that would likely be a hindrance for me to switch.

@laurenlperfors thanks for this feedback Lauren, you are correct about it being a hinderance and we will definitely be addressing it at some point. It might not be before the summer as we have some big additions we are working on that will take Favro to a completely different level. Very exciting stuff. So stay tuned. But As for the Drive hinderance, please let us know if in the interim we can help you in any way.

Well, we have been in the collaboration game now for over 10 years with our enterprise product Hansoft. Over the years through collaboration with our many customers and the advancements in technology and open source, our true vision of what we wanted out of a collaboration tool could now be realized. We personally use a mix of kanban and agile methodologies, but we realized that most users want to be able to work in their own way, and not be dictated to. We wanted people to be able to work in a way that suited their way of working but still be able to collaborate with other people in their organization who intern would be doing the same. Being easy to use is one thing, but maintaining true scalable collaboration is where the magic is in Favro. For instance being able to have a card in multiple boards tracked by different people at the same time.

Been playing around with this when it was under the Hansoft X brand, very impressive. The way I would best describe this is that its like Trello but more flexible. One request I would love to see here would be Zapier.com integration. Any plans on this @PatricPalm and @RoydenJames ?

@jasondainter Zapier is one of my favorite products. And would be a great addition. We have a public roadmap that you can take a look at. This shows what's coming up and what we are currently working on. As far as I know it's not on the immediate backlog, but if more people request it, we are prepared to reprioritize. Let me know and I can send you the public roadmap link.

@roydenjames @mblode so whats the catch?
Royden James

@roydenjames · Growth Director
@eonpilot there is no real catch except when you want more advanced apps. At the heart of Favro will be an App Store where you can customize each board to suite it's needs. Every new organization gets one free app

@roydenjames Cool, So you pay for edge cases. Sounds good. The only problem I have with trello is that it feels a bit too much like work.

@eonpilot when you say work, what do you mean? If you don't mind me asking. To setup or to work with on a daily basis?
Eon@eonpilot · Swift dev @ eon.codes
@roydenjames Todo lists in general feels like work to me. I only do great work when the work doesnt feel like work. Its a mind trick. You can read more about how i like to work here: http://stylekit.org/blog/2016/01...

@eonpilot Took a quick look at your blog. I think most people feel the same. Trick is always to maintain a balance between automation and manual tracking. A system thats completely autonomous might require stricture structure and would like the flexibility, and then on the flip side, too much flexibility can get difficult to manage and structure. We would love to hear more of your thought about how you see an app like ours working.
Eon@eonpilot · Swift dev @ eon.codes
@roydenjames automation is key. Then apply neural network inteligence, then contextualize the tasks. I only write todo lists in context of what im working on. If im on the plane, i dont want to see todo items about doin laundry. So i open my notes on that algorithm thats bothering me and I instantly see a few undone tasks in thous notes. And get to work! Boom now im in another country and the algo now looks awesome. How this applies to your app im not sure. But this is what im feeling for the future of todo lists. Make them feel less like work.

@eonpilot I think this is where having multiple boards works great. If you wanted you could have a board for just about any group of activities. That way you can focus in on what you currently are working on with out distractions. This is another USP that Favro has over some of our competitors. Thanks for the feedback and sharing.
