Any Android release planned ?

@valdecarpentrie Honestly, it doesn't really make sense for companies like Facebook to make iOS only/first apps and features when almost 9 out of 10 people in the world use Android. Glad Google is seeing the Indian market as something to cater to finally though.

@thepranavigator @valdecarpentrie almost 9 out of 10? Don't think that's correct

@bentossell @valdecarpentrie I was going to say 3 out of 4, but a quick Google search led me to this: http://www.idc.com/prodserv/smar...

@bentossell @thepranavigator well... As long as I know IDC is one of the best sources about that kind of topic

@bentossell @valdecarpentrie Ah well, up to the individual to believe their sources I guess. But the fact remains that Android is majority.

@valdecarpentrie @thepranavigator like I said...diff stats everywhere! Who knows what to believe?! I did think that 9 out of 10 sounded too high to me though
Parwinder Bhagat@parwinder · Global Technical Lead, JWT
@bentossell @thepranavigator 9 out of 10 is high. Maybe more like 7/10. That being said a company like Facebook should release apps for both the platforms. They released Messenger Lite which was Android only and this app is iOS only. Makes no sense.

@parwinder @bentossell @thepranavigator I would call this up to the fragmentation of Android. Just because Facebook is a large company doesn't mean they have a full team for an invite app. Plus, iOS users are faster to adopt... although this may need new research...

@kreevers I definitely agree with you, although for the purpose of discussion, I have to point out that the stats for fragmentation include those old, cheap tablets lying around on your sofa or used in kiosks for a single purpose. And as for adoption, yes, new studies need to be done because, at least anecdotally, I notice Indian Android users are very quick… See more
