If I keep a tab open, my intention is come back to it later. Why mess with that and annoy people? Not only will people be annoyed by a blinking tab, but they won't see the name of your website. I automatically close tabs that do this. Let's not make the web any more annoying than it already is.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Dark pattern, annoys people

So sites like Facebook qualify as annoying as heck because they change the tab all the time right?

True, beyond this being a dark pattern, it's rare that people are going to unfocus a tab before closing it out. Give value to users through your landing page, not by begging on a tab title.

I have a feeling this will decrease customer interaction. People don't want to see annoying website behavior while browsing. A blinking tab is a straight up 'NO'. It's creative though 👌

Pros:

Creative

Cons:

Irritating to see a blinking tab. Will definitely close the tab.

Please don't start using this. We don't need yet another annoying, distracting thing like this.

Pros:

Neat idea

Cons:

Annoying

I don't think it will increase CR, it will rather cause the tabs to be closed.

Seems very childish.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Irritating

Distraction is a killer in e-commerce. People can be browsing and then 'life happens'. Kids, phone calls, phone notification, game notification, Facebook bings etc etc.

I always have 15+ tabs open so when I saw this product in action on a store I had to ask them HOW they were doing it. I wanted it on mine. It's really is genius.

Understand that some people might not like it...blah to them. If it gets people back to my site then I LOVE IT. If they close the tab to my store, no harm done, they had effectively left the store anyway, at least it brought them back.

I probably wouldn't use it with the beep on e-commerce but even that feature is not intrinsically 'bad'. If it was on a site/page with a form or something that 'times out' it could be and important and valuable timesaver for a customer to be brought back in a timely manner.

Thank you for making it a FREE tool. It's very much appreciated.

Pros:

Easy to set up and awesome. It works. Simple. Free

Cons:

I can't think of any.
