This sounds like a great way for bitter law-breakers to get retribution on the cops who held them accountable for their actions...
There's a great interview between the CopScore founder, Arion Hardison and the founder of one of my favorite startups (NationBuilder), Jim Gilliam on the About CopScore page. I think it's a great idea but I'm not 100% sold on the execution... yet. I like the fact that @arionhardison is putting an emphasis on building trust and highlighting good cops in hopes that his tool can help build better relationships between police and communities. I don't see how this is scalable in it's current form though. You could manually verify every (good and bad) review to make sure nobody is abusing the system which takes time. On the other hand, you can take a hands off approach to reviews and run the risk of abuse + lose the trust you're building. I guess the right answer is somewhere in between those extremes but I'm excited to see someone tackling this issue. It's definitely going in my Social Good Apps collection. Team PH should invite Arion to comment. It'd be cool to learn more about his product roadmap.
