Hi Product Hunt community! 😀 As a founder of two startups that are both now remote, I’ve experienced both the highs and the lows. There’s definitely lots to love about remote work: 📊 increased productivity, 🧘‍♀️ flexibility and comfort, 🚘...not to mention avoiding that dreaded peak hour commute! But it also has its own set of challenges. In a traditional office environment, we would interact in a lot of different ways. A smile as we cross each other in the hall, or sharing stories of our weekends at the coffee machine. These little moments are all opportunities to develop rapport, and help us feel connected to our team and organization. 🤔 So I thought, how do we reclaim these moments while working remotely? ⚔️ I believe games are a powerful tool for forming relationships. In fact, some of my deepest friendships were developed whilst playing World of Warcraft and just chatting about life! I’m sure many of you can relate with your own nostalgic memories of forging friendships through play. ⚽ Working together towards a common goal has an incredible way of opening up communication and breaking down barriers. That’s why we made Brightful Meeting Games, so we can spark 👉 laughter 👉 candid conversations 👉 deep discussions 😊 Play one of our icebreaker games before your next meeting, and you’re guaranteed to learn something new and fun about your co-workers. Thanks!

Hi guys! Thanks again to @nikkielizdemere for hunting us. Calvin here, coming to you live from Melbourne, Australia 🦘🇦🇺! As the Community Outreach Manager at Brightful I’ll be helping out with any questions or feedback you may have, so don’t be shy! Just like @alvinhung mentioned earlier, I’m fortunate to be part of a company that puts remote-first. In theory this means I can work in my pyjamas and blast whatever tunes I want when not in a meeting. But in all seriousness it has allowed me to move home and be closer to my family during lockdown ❤️. As Atlassian co-founder Scott Farquhar puts it, “...people say we’re working from home, but that suggests a level of normalcy - we’re actually at home, working during a crisis”. Two things have been crucial for maintaining my mental health: 1️⃣Having something productive to focus on every day 2️⃣Staying connected to colleagues We use Slack, Zoom, and Trello to take care of the first point. But how about the social aspect? That’s why we created Brightful Meeting Games. After we started incorporating them into our own daily standups, I noticed I started to look forward to the meetings more. It has been fascinating to play “Would you rather” with my colleagues from all over the world 🌏and discover little nuanced differences that arose from our different cultural backgrounds. Would love to hear comments and feedback from the community! Thanks Calvin
