We wrote a blog post about the history of Bold Poker and how the new version came to be: And here’s an article about our experiences showing off the app at Úll conference this year: Cheers and we hope you deal with it!

@unkai I love the card designs. How much time did go into creating those?
Philipp MarkovicsMaker@unkai · UI Designer/Engineer at Bold Poker
@msch The card deck designs evolved quite a bit over the previous versions of Bold Poker. It’s the third iteration now with each iteration taking about a week or two of time. They were all done by @maltino and we’re very happy with how they are now.

This is a fabulous idea and I am so mad I didn't think of it myself! Such a natural extension. One thing that's not clear to me is if you also handle betting? If not, why not?
Martin KavalarMaker@mkvlr · Bold Poker
@taykcrane the app only replaces the cards, betting is still done with real chips. I think this is actually the strength of the app because it still makes it feel like real poker as opposed to a smartphone game.

@mkvlr That's a good point. But, online poker feels like poker too. I guess if I was sitting at a table with a computer anyway, I'd prefer it to also handle all the betting and chips, too. It can be such a pain without a dealer. But I get where you're coming from.

@taykcrane Time spent on handling bets is actually much less than time spent handling cards. Unless you have to start counting stacks with an all-in betting with chips is really fast as well. Please give it a try and let me know what you think.

@taykcrane Hi Taylor, we just created an app for iPad that replaces cards, chips and a dealer. I thought you might like it. Check it out:

Just tried this out with my iPad and 2 iPhones and it's incredible. Great job, I have already forwarded the link to my friends so we can play the next time we meet.

Love it! Some friends and I have started doing a Tokyo tech poker night every month or so and this will definitely be at our next! Keeping the real chips was a great call. Can't wait, may have to set up a game this weekend now 💴♠️
