Frequently asked questions

Blockfolio Trading supports investors in 49 US states. Residents of the State of New York cannot sign up for Blockfolio Trading at this time. Trading services offered through Blockfolio are provided by FTX.US for US residents, and FTX.com for all other regions.

Blockfolio does support instant transfer. Once you make an ACH request, Blockfolio will credit the ACH deposit so you're able to make trades immediately. However, it still takes 3-5 business days for the ACH to clear behind the scenes. In the event that there is an issue with the ACH transfer (like a chargeback), you may be charged a $10 fee.

After you submit your withdrawal request, you will receive funds in your bank account within 1-4 business days.

Blockfolio charges absolutely zero fees for the first three deposits each month, provided that the deposits are from a bank account via ACH. After the third deposit in a rolling month, you will have to pay a small fee of $0.50 USD per transaction to use ACH.

If you choose to deposit money to Blockfolio using a credit card, you will need to pay the card processor's convenience fee, which is equivalent to 2.9% + $0.30 USD per deposit transaction.

Blockfolio doesn't charge any fees on the first three ACH withdrawals on any day. Withdrawals after this will incur a $1.50 USD fee.

Yes, you can buy crypto using the Blockfolio app. Previously, Blockfolio only offered portfolio tracking, but following their acquisition by FTX in 2020, they started offering in-app trading via FTX.COM and FTX.US.

Technically speaking, the Blockfolio site notes that "Blockfolio does not provide trading services. Trading services offered through the Blockfolio site are provided by FTX.US for U.S. residents only, and FTX.COM for all other regions." You won't find much information on the website, nor are the features accessible via desktop. Instead, users must download the iOS or Android app.

Blockfolio is owned by FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange which offers crypto derivatives, options, volatility products, and leveraged tokens. At the time, the deal was the sixth-largest acquisition in crypto sector history.

On July 28, 2021, Blockfolio announced that it was officially rebranding to FTX (or the "FTX mobile app"). According to FTX.US President Brett Harrison, the rebrand of the app "reflects what is true for [them] internally: Blockfolio has fully integrated and become one and the same with FTX."

Yes, Blockfolio is completely free to use. It is free to deposit funds from your bank account up to three times per month, after which Blockfolio charges $0.50 USD per deposit. If you choose to pay using a credit card, you'll pay a fee to your credit card processor (typically 2.9%).

On February 9, 2021, the news feed portion of the Blockfolio app was hacked to display offensive content, but the trading services were never affected. Following the hack, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried reassured users that they'd be conducting a full security review of the older, non-trading related parts of Blockfolio to avoid future issues. He followed up by giving $10 to every user trading in Blockfolio (and the new ones who signed up during that week).
