This is a pretty neat idea, I've just pledged to buy more ethical food for a month and asked someone to stand up for racist/sexist comments they hear to fight social injustice. Individuals have power to change society and this platform shows that, bravo @kieran_hammond @nicksmithr ✌🏽

Would be really interesting for you to start mapping (maybe an infographic) the frequency of different causes by geographic location πŸ€“

Pros:

Simple design and quite empowering. Also great to see what other people care about.

Cons:

I'd love the community to be so diverse that I see more causes related to social inequality I can pledge to.

Thanks for the love, Product Hunt. Kieran and I built Advocate to enable people to share the causes they truly care about, in a reciprocal way. The mechanism is based on the idea of Moral Trading [http://www.amirrorclear.net/file...] proposed by a philosopher at Oxford recently. This is very much an MVP, so we appreciate as much feedback as possible. If you'd rather give feedback anonymously, you can submit it to us through this form: https://goo.gl/forms/cpBH4kx94ps.... Thanks again, and happy pledging 😘
Love the concept. With more people using this, it has the potential to create a self-reinforcing virtuous cycle of good deeds worldwide. Only other thing that would be a nice to have is the option to target a pledge to one of my friends instead of a random person assigned to me. Either way, looking forward to seeing how this develops!
This is a cool idea! Really looking forward to seeing how this evolves. Next thing I'd personally would like to see most is all the people and the pledges that they've made πŸš€
