And who outside of product culture even has an angellist account?

Short version is that LinkedIn InMail is reported to be a $300M/year business, so paid emails from outside your network are more in demand than one might think. Longer version is that it's not just about asking for advice -- it's about inbound fundraising pitches, sales emails, and recruiting emails. Longest version is that we have some tools coming which will allow even people who aren't super famous to get nontrivial inbound traffic. Stay tuned!

@nrose @chadwhitaker I don't currently have a "maker" mark here on ProductHunt, but I absolutely have an AngelList account. I've also been approached there (on AngelList) by numerous folks in real estate, and others outside of "product" culture. I don't have lots of people currently emailing me asking for my advice. However, I can easily see how I could market myself (my experience) in a manner where this type of gateway could easily be positioned as a first-tier, income generating gateway in advance of full consultative engagement (to name just one possibility.) I am in the Kansas City area... a looooong way from the "valley." Just giving you a look through the eyes of someone not in the Valley. Hope that's valuable for you in some way.
