A great way to make otherwise disconnected apps work together. Zapier helps us run our business with less hands-on time devoted to busywork. And I use Tmetric for tracking time in Zapier - https://tmetric.com/integrations...
Just signed up to Zapier and created a macro to send Uservoice bug tickets to Asana automatically, haven't got it properly working yet (i'm a noob) but seems like it could be really useful (I also emailed support and they got back to me super quick)
Thanks for the AMA, @wadefoster! Zapier looks great.
What are the main differences between Zapier and (what seem to be) competitors like IFTTT, featured on ProductHunt a while back? (http://www.producthunt.co/posts/546)
For extensive users, pricing model is not so friendly. But other than that, it's very user friendly. You don't need any programming background to create Zaps Zapier also has great amount of support document to help you get going and be creative. Great product.
Their design is excellent. Behind the scenes its very technical, but the user experience is smooth and easy on the eyes. It does such a great job of taking actions and information in one app and bringing it to your app of choice.
Pros:
Extremely easy and fun to use. Really helps consolidate workflows into a single app like Samepage.io.
Using Zapier for over one month now and I really enjoy it. At first I thought the world doesn't need another IFTTT, but Zapier is more like an IFTTT on steroids!
We use it for example at (http://hikewith.me) to funnel any kind of interaction to our HipChat room (MailChimp, Twitter, AngelList, …).
I used it to send my business tweets to Facebook page. Though I also used IFTTT for the same but the main difference was that with @Zapier I was able to post "Photo posts" on Facebook using "tweets with article links" and Zapier gives option to extract picture from the link of the article that we tweeted about and that's awesome.
@wadefoster : You guys are awesome !
We use this mostly to automate our email marketing campaigns by pulling data from our HubSpot CRM into Active Campaign for our email drips. Among a million other things.. amazing product!
Pros:
Zapier allows for automation with out the complexity or cost of coding. Without it we wouldn't be able to run our efficient sales funnel.
I'm connecting a knowledge base on Airtable to a Google Drive folder, creating an automated file for every new Airtable row. It's fantastic and took less than 5m to sign up and set up.
I have a 6-month free account since I have a .edu email, but am afraid I will cancel it after the trial period ends. It's a great product, but $240/year is excessive.
Pros:
Insanely easy to use, many options of apps to integrate
