Hey folks 👋! Long time Product Hunt supporter, first time maker. Today I'm stoked to share with you Wobo, a product that our team at Course Studio has been working hard to bring to life. To celebrate our launch, we’ve created a public Wobo workbook on How to Nail a Product Hunt Launch. Meta, right? Now, some context: Course Studio is a product agency focused on helping course creators. Our team has built course and membership products for some of the world’s top creators and organizations . The more we’ve worked with leading course platforms, the more we’ve realized their strengths, and shortcomings. For example, course platforms do a great job of delivering sequenced video content and quizzes to students. They primarily push information, and when they do ask for student input, it’s usually so that the student can be ‘tested’. What the platforms don’t do well is enable students to take notes, journal, collaborate, and reflect on learning material. These are all features of a tool most of us use in the physical world daily: Workbooks. And as far as we can tell... No one has ever built the digital version of this. But lots of people try to stitch together off-the-shelf tools, like... 🚫PDFs A jurassic file format created in (gasps) 1993. Making fillable PDFs takes forever. They’re flat files that don’t give you any insight into what’s engaging to your users. PDFs are pain incarnate on mobile, too. 🚫 Google docs If it’s sent write-only, any formatting you make to the document is easily broken. Especially if you want to send branded documents, this is painful. If it’s read-only, it can’t be revised at all. If you want to add or edit to your Google doc after it’s created — good luck. Once a Google doc is sent to users, there’s no editing a master file to make an edit or add material to your student workbook. 🚫 JotForm, Typeform, and other form software These products are designed to intake information. User responses aren’t saved and available to be revisited, nor can these tools enable a Course Creator and their student to engage in lesson material. Wobo exists to address all of these issues and resurrect the workbook to enhanced digital greatness. To do this, we’ve taken all the features of the analogue workbook; a place to take notes, reflect, set and revisit goals. And we’ve enhanced it with digital features, like: ✅ A growing list of interactive sections Things like fill-in-the-blank, flexible tables to communicate visually, question & answer, slider scales, and more. ✅ Flexible workbook design editor This makes designing Wobos a breeze, sort of like Canva. In just a few clicks you can make a workbook that’s on-brand and professional. No graphic designer required. ✅ Integrate with your platform or send to your students via the dashboard You can integrate Wobo with your course platform via a seamless integration, or send your Wobo to your users via our admin dashboard. If you want to edit or add sections to your Wobo after it's sent, no stress. You can do so through the dashboard editor. ✅ Students uploads Students can upload doodles and drawings as images for themselves to revisit later, or for their instructor to react to. ✅ Download to PDF For the traditionalists, yes, there’s an option to design and download your Wobo to PDF too. ✨Coming soon✨ Users can collaborate with your instructor, just like in a Google Document. Wobo is used by hundreds of users all over the world.
