Hey there! I'm happy to announce the launch of wanderer, an open-source self-hosted trail database. I created wanderer, because I needed a better way to organise the hundreds of GPS files that had accumulated over the last years of outdoor activities. At its core wanderer is very similar to existing websites like alltrails and strava. With the exception that it is completely free and open-source; no strings attached! No matter if you are a hiker, biker, climber or skier wanderer is there to effortlessly organise your tours and make finding them in the future a breeze. Additionally, you can also use wanderer to plan completely new routes with the integrated route drawing feature. Once you are ready to head out use wanderer's print feature to take your created map into the real world. Learn how to get started over at our website. If you are interested in the code you can visit our GitHub repo. I'm happy to answer all your questions. Thanks for your time! Chris

Routes planning feature is very useful and I like how you can visually see the elevation and customize notes. Congrats on the launch!

As someone who enjoys hiking, this looks promising. Does it support importing data from popular fitness trackers or other GPS devices? Congrats on the launch, Christian!

@kyrylosilin Thank you! Yes, wanderer supports GPX, FIT, KML and TCX files. This should hopefully cover most of the fitness trackers out there.

Hey there Wanderer team! Just want to commend you on creating such a superb tool for adventure junkies like myself. As someone who delights in conquering new trails and recording all the off-the-beaten paths, Wanderer is just perfect. The fact that it's self-hosted fortifies it with an added layer of appeal - giving me the independence I've been yearning for in a trail database. It's like the Swiss army knife of adventure data collection - only without the danger of accidentally puncturing anything. Keep up the good work folks!
