HELLO Hunters and Voters. πŸ—³οΈ VOTEism is the answer to the question, "Can we conduct elections online?" πŸ—³οΈ The 🦠Corona Virus has us all semi-permanently burrowed. Everything that can is moving online. Why not democratic elections??? OK. That's a stretch for now. Let's fix opinion polls first. Current political opinion polls are riddled with low sample sizes, interviewer biases, push poll tactics, self voting sock-puppets, and worst of all, the lack of privacy. πŸ€₯ ⏱️ Time to change that. 🎬 Introducing VOTEism - The Political Opinion Poll App. VOTEism is the Occam's razor of political opinion polls πŸ€”. You just tap and confirm your preferred candidate. Your vote is encrypted πŸ” and stored from prying eyes. The encrypted votes are downloaded and decrypted with a private key on an air-gapped system. The aggregated results are available for everyone to see in the VOTEism app. πŸ›ŽοΈ Here are some things you MUST know about VOTEism βœ” VOTEism is voluntary and free to use. βœ” You can change your vote any time. Only your latest vote will be counted. βœ” Your votes are encrypted using public key cryptography. βœ” The results of VOTEism's opinion polls are free to use by anyone. ✘ VOTEism does not serve paid advertisements. ✘ VOTEism does not sell your private information. 🌱 VOTEism is built, published and funded by a small and independent software company (AskDesis INC.) based in the United States. We have no political, governmental, corporate, or media affiliation. πŸ¦„ πŸ–‡οΈ LINKS: iOS: https://ios.voteism.org Android: https://android.voteism.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/theVOTEism Docs: https://docs.voteism.org Transparency: https://docs.voteism.org/transpa... This is awesome and i'm blown by the simplicity of this app. Conducting democratic elections via an app is definitely a more efficient way. But i guess people are more drawn to the spectacle of going out and participating in the voting process every few years. I think going out and voting gives people a feeling of being more involved in the process of electing their leaders. All said, this is a very cool initiative. Just voted.

This misses the mark completely. Is "secured" e-voting possible? Yes. Is it politically desirable over hand counted paper ballots? Absolutely not (and I will vehemently defend this point). In your references there is zero research on the current State-approved voting machine vendors (there's only a handful) nor recent exposure of how those voting machine software can be used to manipulate tabulated results (see Broward County election fraud from 2016-today). Hand counted paper ballots are the only desirable political instruments. It's worked for hundreds of years and in different countries with more accurate results because more people can oversee the counting activity, you can't do that electronically nor trust independent vendors to secure all aspects of the ballot chain-of-command. Mail me a ballot and I'll send it back. Don't ask me to trust voting electronically knowing that there's clear and legitimate electronic election fraud actively taking place when there's perfectly sound alternatives. It can take a few days if its needed to be verified by pollsters and elected Supervisors. Democracy can not be automated or encrypted.

@ravi_bajnath, completely agree with your points. There is no better alternative to the paper ballot Does VOTEism seek to be the final answer to "e-Voting"? A BIG NO. Currently VOTEism is a secure and private opinion polling app. But we want to seed the discussion towards e-Voting. Wouldn't it be great (at least in the far future) if you could vote for your leaders EVERY DAY, instead of once every 4 years?

@amaraangelini It's fine if its an opinion poll, voting on issues would be better for Worker Self-Directed Cooperatives than Government led bodies since its within a closed network. Also, not sure why I would want to vote for leaders every day? If the point is direct democracy then there's no need for tenured leaders, it's called Anarchism (and yes, it is a good thing). For reference: Rojava's Democratic Confederalism which operates on popular neighborhood assemblies and use polling methods comfortable with the assembly. This is done on an as needed basis. http://www.freeocalan.org/wp-con...
