I'm a semi-pro photographer who has left 500px portfolio features for format.com 6 months ago and not regretting the switch. Tell me @thadallender : why should I or any other photographer switch to Visual Society ? What are your KSP ?
@jpvalery Great question. Like Format, Visual Society makes it easy to create a portfolio, sell photos and prints. But Visual Society doesn't stop there. It also includes the ability to sell licenses (editorial/commercial/etc) based on usage like a stock agency, sell monthly or yearly subscriptions to your entire photo library, content marketing tools, and the ability to include your photos in our central marketplace (rolling out next month). Visual Society is both a photo website builder and robust e-commerce platform for selling photos/prints with an integrated marketplace to help you promote and sell your work. Thank you for the honest feedback. A lot has changed recently including:
- Automated payouts using Stripe Connect. No more waiting.
- Implemented an invite-only marketplace. Users will upvote their favorites.
- New customer service (Live Chat)
Visual Society focuses on e-commerce/sales/marketplace for creatives. Wix is a website builder. Both platforms have different purposes and many users have accounts on both.

Bottom line - just don't use them. Wix is such a better site with so many more options to customize your site for a better price.
Pros:Nice gallery layout
Cons:Terrible customer service. Payments took way too long. Marketplace is nonsense.
