@ryan_roberts1 Thank you Ryan! I built it actually as a replacement for Preview. Also for when you want to see image size and dimensions while viewing the image without opening an info window
Visually very nice thing to be honest - much nicer than the preview. My issue is that I'm not sure if it's much more useful over the quick preview.
Nevertheless, pretty cool!
@knightbenax My issue is that it doesn't support either the .HEIC files which are a default output of all new iPhones right now, nor it does .DNG's and I use both of those formats extensively.
So unfortunately even though I'd really want to try it, I just can't :/
@mikethejsdev Fair enough. What I would do now is add both .HEIC and .DNG to the roadmap of next image formats to support. So in about 11 days, it should be ready. Would keep you posted
@knightbenax Cool! I'll wait for the DNG though, because that's the one that I'm using significantly more than the HEIC ;)
Also - while you're at the DNG's, were you considering the ARW's? (Sony RAW files). I mean - there are many users of the Sony system now, because they've gotten sooooo gooood. It would be pretty cool to have the support for that as well!
(they are based on TIFF so that should be pretty simple to implement)
@knightbenax Not sure if this is related, but when I try to open the app for the first time macOS says it cannot be opened because the app is built by an unidentified developer. I have to go into the Security panel of Preferences to approve the app before I can open it.
Additional feedback:
1) It'd be wonderful if this app provided the ability to zoom in or zoom out when viewing an image.
2) This app doesn't really work for smaller images like thumbnails or small avatars: http://ca.mag.cm/7afa5d4f0c4f
I've bought Viso on Paddle but when I click "Activate License" the app crashes. I'm on macOS Mojave. Also, please consider this feature: Navigate through images in the same folder by arrow keys on keyboard and swiping two fingers on trackpad. Thanks!
@halacoglu@oude_dibbes Hi guys. So sorry about that, really am. Just pushed a new update. You can download the new version from the website (v4.1), this should fixed the bug. Also don't forget to move the app to your /Applications folder. Let me know please how it goes.
@oude_dibbes@knightbenax The new version has resolved my activation issue. Viso will be my default image viewer when I have the ability to navigate through images in a folder. Thanks for your hard work!
Hey everyone. Indie maker here, excited to be able to share this with you. Leave me any comments or questions. Here is also a 20% discount coupon for you great guys - 'PH-VISO-20'
Looks cool! Just installed the app on 10.14.6, but I'm running into two issues;
1. when clicking About & Registration > Activate License, the app quits
2. when trying to set the app as default for images (PNG, in my case), I keep getting the security block message - despite having previously granted the app permission to be opened.
@jorisknaapen Also would very grateful if you email the stacktrace in the corresponding Viso Crashed Window that opens a while after for app quits for 1).
knightbenax[at]gmail[dot]com. Or just uploading somewhere I could have access to. Thank you
@jorisknaapen Thank you for your tremendous help. Bug has been fixed and I have emailed you. Also the app takes care of setting itself as the default for images, you don't have to do anything. ;)
@akandratovich So sorry about that. Can you download the new version from the website (v4.1), move the app to your /Applications folder and let me know how it goes?
Super excited to try this, but the application crashes right when I click to try and activate my license😕 the $5 doesn't matter as much as not getting to use it does to me!
This app is almost the best image viewer ever. I usually use quick preview to view images but I really like how this app shows the image and how minimal it is. The only thing missing is an easy way to zoom in and out. Perhaps cmd + scroll wheel or traditional cmd +/- would work.
So the original image viewer shows the frames of individual frames of a gif file... pretty useless for those file types. Does it play gif files upon opening?
I have the same problem as @halacoglu has. I've bought Viso on Paddle but when I click "Activate License" the app crashes. I'm on macOS Mojave. (10.14.6 Beta (18G59b)) Please send advice, i just bought two licenses.
