Vapid - An intentionally simple CMS

Vapid is a template-driven content management system. Currently, it's already deployed on Cards Against Humanity website by Naz Hamid and Scott Robbin.

The idea is great. I would like to see the PHP version of this which is easier to deploy
@csaba_kissi It is incredibly easy to deploy Vapid via simple command line hosts like Now.sh.

This looks like a godsend for freelance developers with non-technical clients! 😍

Any plan to implement custom post type the same way as Kirby CMS does with it's templates & blueprints concepts?
Scott Robbin
@katrynvonfelsen Yes, definitely. I just opened an issue to start discussion/development. https://github.com/vapid/vapid/i...

I came across Vapid on Hacker News today and was super interested by the product, especially the simplicity. There is now a CMS for almost every needs What is the story behind Vapid, @weightshift @srobbin ?

This is very interesting to build the dashboard in the reverse order. The design seems to be very clean. BTW: does it use DB to store settings or just plain text file (e.g JSON)?
Scott Robbin
@csaba_kissi Like @tu_truong said, it uses SQLite by default, in development, but it supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc too: https://github.com/vapid/vapid/w...

This looks 🔥. Is there a strategy in place or planned for handling image sizes for responsive designs? Maybe something the with imgix and the ability to add `?w=600`, etc.
Scott Robbin
@begraffic I'm not super familiar with Imgix, but Vapid does have a couple of options for how it renders images. Renders as a full tag: {{photo type=image}} Just renders the URL: <img src="{{photo type=image tag=false}}?w=600">

Would be great if it could be also hosted on Netflify. First impressions - good.

Vapid looks pretty cool. For the same goal I've used Cockpit CMS in the past https://getcockpit.com/ ;)

Looks neat. You need a better name though.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Our organization is evaluating Contentful and strapi.io right now and this looks like a happy medium between the two. (Contentful is beautiful and strapi.io is still a little rough around the edges for the end user.) We'll add you to the list of potential solutions and definitely look forward to when you release custom post types.
