I've launched and worked super hard on a couple ideas in the past. FINALLY when launch day came, I LAUNCHED them and I made a total of... $0.
After all that hard work, I had nothing to show for it. Over time I've decided to make a change to LAUNCH AS FAST AS POSSIBLE! With whatever crazy ideas I come up with, I wanted to get a website up and running really fast.
Shopping around, I found that a ton of services like Squarespace, Mailchimp, etc didn't offer a super simple solution of just a website and email launch page for a reasonable price. They had free trials, but only for a month or so! After that, the cost starts at $20/month or so and beyond. This doesn't seem too bad, until you want to start 10 ideas up in parallel all at once. All of sudden, you're bleeding $200/month for JUST the base service.
Enter ValidateFast - an AWS CDK which lets you deploy your idea onto the AWS cloud! AWS provides a very generous free tier, so as long as you aren't going above 10,000+ signups, it's practically free! Even if you do, costs are only by usage, so it should still be extremely cheap (we're talking under $1 per month).
Sending emails is even cheaper! With AWS SES, you can send emails out at $1/10,000 emails. This is WAY CHEAPER than anything else out there. Mailchimp's cheapest tier for example is $26/10,000 emails (26x the cost!)

I love the idea, resonates a lot with some of the reasons we're building Mailbob. I would have loved to see a few more variations of the resulting landing page, though the default one looks quite solid!
One thing I don't quite understand is what do you do after collecting these e-mail addresses? How do you actually start crafting and sending them e-mails, tracking opens, clicks, unsubscribes, etc? Or would you have to look for a different tool to handle that?

@kovshenin thanks for the comments! currently there is a pretty solid email template where you just go to the admin page. You enter the API key, then all you have to do is craft the subject and body of the email. Everything else (e.g. unsubscribe button, etc) is added and implemented already!
Tracking isn't in there yet, but there are plans to add!
@ptaszyc currently there isn't spam protection, but this can be implemented in the lambda function and rate-limiting IP addresses if desired. This feature can be implemented!
@valsk WE'RE WAY CHEAPER! $0.50/month for hosting (money doesn't go to us, it goes to AWS!), $1/10,000 emails sent.. If you need something lightweight and fast this is the way to go.
