Userflow - Turbo-charge your user onboarding and convert more customers

Build truly sophisticated user onboarding experiences. It’s so much more than the typical guides with a series of “Next” buttons. Userflow can react to any element or event in your app using “if this, then that” rules, do branching, and segmentation of users.

Cool! Really helpful tool! Do you support Electron?
Sebastian Seilund
@dimansny1 Thanks! As long as the computer the Electron app is running on, I don't see why it wouldn't work. May depend on how/if you use webviews and such. Hit me up if you wanna chat about it :)
Sebastian Seilund
@dimansny1 Follow-up: Today we added official Electron support! https://getuserflow.com/blog/ele...

Been using this for a while now and we've seen a tremendous improvement to our activation rate. My favorite part is the checklist that is integrated with the different flows - it works!
Mike Dane
similar to intercom ?
Sebastian Seilund
@mikedane7 In some ways, yeah :). Though you'll be able to make more sophisticated flows with Userflow. AFAIK Intercom Product Tours only support linear flows (no branching, skipping steps etc.) and users can only progress to the next step in a limited number of ways. I've also put a lot of work in to making the flow-building experience really nice.

@Mike Dane 1000 times better! :)

We've been using Userflow at Tame and have been extremely satisfied with the easy setup and great flexibility. Fast support has also been vital for us to get off to a good start. Hands down the best flow builder I've used.
Sebastian Seilund
@mickeyswitzer Thanks, Mickey! Happy have you on the platform :)

Due to the dynamic nature of content in our platform we had issues with the legacy solutions out there for this. We've been part of the beta and love Sebastians responsiveness. Great UI and a highly recommended platform.

Thanks @klngnbrg for posting! Hello Product Hunt! I made Userflow since I couldn’t find a capable enough solution for a product I was working on last year. Most products I looked at either only supported standard linear guides with a series of “Next” buttons, or they were way too expensive and/or complicated. I ended up hardcoding a very detailed onboarding guide. That birthed the idea for Userflow. About 8 months ago, that originally hardcoded onboarding guide was replaced with the very first guide made entirely with Userflow. It worked just as well. Since then, Userflow has only gotten better and smarter. We have a super intuitive Flow Builder. Our special sauce is our triggers (“if this, then that” rules) that can react any anything in a web app. Our flows can also branch, so you can skip steps or fork users’ paths depending on their previous behavior/attributes. Recently we added support for get-started-checklists. I would love to hear feedback or questions. Thanks, Sebastian

It's been amazing using this and gave our team a huge boost in being able to create and experiment with different user onboarding flows fast without having to write a line of code. It's straightforward to use, yet really powerful!

So super cool! I'm likely to be using this product for my upcoming SaaS offering.

We've been using this to significantly upgrade our user onboarding experience at Roger - we've seen an uptake in activation rates and the flows are easy to set up and manage based on learnings. Love it.

Looks pretty cool guys. Good luck!
Dan Kabakov
Hi, does it support RTL?
Sebastian Seilund
@den_kabakov1 Not yet, but I'd like to add support for it. Can you hit me up at sebastian@getuserflow.com to chat about it?
Arpit Choudhury
Would really love to know how you guys are different from AppCues.
Sebastian Seilund
@irhymeth You can make more sophisticated flows with Userflow. Our triggers ("if this, then that" rules) allow your flows to react to anything in your web app. You can branch/merge/fork/skip-steps in your flow. We've spent a lot of blood, sweat and tears on building a really nice and intuitive flow builder. You can read a bit more on https://getuserflow.com/product, try a demo example on https://getuserflow.com/demo, or try it out for yourself at https://getuserflow.com/create-a... :)

It looks great, I like your UX. May I have one suggestion? I would add an API call at the end of the tutorial so I can reward the user somehow.
Sebastian Seilund
@ichangetheway Thanks! :) Could you elaborate on the API call? At the end of which tutorial? Where should the API call be made to?
Ivan Homola
@sebastian_seilund When I create a guide and the user will accomplish it I would like to reward him e.g. by extending his free trial. So I would like to have an option to do that somehow and the API call as the last step of the user flow would do that, I guess.
Sebastian Seilund
@ichangetheway Ah, yeah you can totally do that. You can for example add an "Evaluate JavaScript" action on the last button, which invokes some JavaScript function your app exposes. Example: ```js window.__ivanRewardUser = () => { /* ...do something... */ ``` And then you just add `__ivanRewardUser()` to your Evaluate JavaScript action in Userflow. Note that this is an advanced feature. Evaluate JavaScript actions are like an escape hatch when you need to do something that's integrated into your app, such as making API calls to your backend. Does that make sense?

Not only is it really easy and fast to create and track onboarding flows without a lot of dependencies on devs - it also provides helpful information to prevent creating a negative user experience. (love the "beware of spamming" warning for one of the conditions). Anyone can be successful in creating the right flows. The ability to add and sync on multiple environments saves so much time and the checklist is such intuitive way for users to keep track of progress. If folks are curious the Free Trial is a great way to test the service on your website via a handy Chrome extension.
