Upskill in data science by working on projects co-created with tech companies. Remote learning at your pace, supervised by industry experts. Build a portfolio and be work-ready on day one! Pay when employed with an Income Share Agreement (ISA).
I am Lukas from Turing College. When the three of us,@benas_sidlauskas@tomasmoska & I, entered university; we were taken back by outdated teaching methods especially regarding basic programs. We still smile to ourselves about learning Excel via a whiteboard. Alongside our studies, we had an IT consulting business, which was expanding fast. We realized that training of developers is not aligned with companies hiring and onboarding processes to the level where students could be hired in days and start delivering in hours. Now our team is bridging the gap between data scientists' education and supplying the industry with talent that is ready to contribute from their first day. We decided to take the best educational techniques and collaborate with the industry itself to solve mutual needs.
The learning methodology:
🤼♂️ Students learn in batches but can progress as fast they like, e.g. a person with more experience can complete 1,000 course hours in 3 months.
👩💻🧑🏽💻Our learners have a weekly minimum of 3 hours of personal consultation with their leading peers and/or senior staff.
🥇🧰 Our learning methodology replicates how teams work in AI and Data Science. This includes standups, 1-on-1s with seniors, exchanging feedback and a focus on project work.
🎯Agile Scrum is used to assist learning and aid in the overall feeling of working remotely in a team.
🏭 Since we started a few months ago, we have 13 Hiring Partners who contribute to co-create our curriculum. Together we replicate current tech stacks & use their prior issues as the basis of projects solved by our learners. These projects also form the basis of the project portfolios.
Our learners are ready to start contributing from their first day on the job. We not only focus on practical projects a person will face but also on cultivating the soft skills needed to function in a team. Our tuition plan is ISA-based, essentially pay-when-employed. We are currently working with leading companies who became Hiring Partners with us to get first access to talent. All of our learners are measured based on performance data during their course to give an insightful and nonpartial view during hiring.
We welcome your feedback and ideas!
@dovydasceilutka sure! Performance data is systemised in a form of a learner report. This report honed in on their hard and soft skills. Technical skills and practical knowledge are evaluated by industry experts mitigating risk. Soft skills are measured extensively throughout by 1-on-1 sessions, HR personnel feedback, research-based self-reflection questionnaires, and more. Hours spent in screening, guesswork and interviews could be saved by this comprehensive data report.
Yesterday in social media was posted that 20 Nigerian female data analysts and tech professionals joined Turing College. Bravo Turing College! Bring some more unexpected connections!
@monika_simaskaite Indeed, there are many competent women, who will improve our lives with data-driven decisions. We're happy to have more and more international students!
@lanre_akinyemi Currently, we focus on EU countries due to our limitations to provide ISA only for the citizens of EU. Nevertheless, students, who pay upfront, can apply from anyplace!
The fact that the founders use the term “taken back” rather than taken aback demonstrates to me that humanities are an absolute necessity in every academic career.
