Hi folks, I'm Will, co-founder of Tred. I started Tred with my friend & co-founder Pete because we saw that a lot of people wanted to have their money do good for the planet, but there weren't any options out there with the same easy-to-use feel that consumers have come to expect from their banking apps. We set out to make making the right choice easier, and that's what Tred has been built to do. Tred users help fund tree planting every time they use their Tred cards (which are made from recycled plastic), at no cost to them. In their Tred app they can see their carbon footprint, broken down by category to understand it better, and see a drill down on the exact emissions of an individual transaction. Our reduce section makes shrinking their footprint more rewarding, with discounts on top eco-brands. Users can also opt to offset the rest of their footprint dynamically using their choice of verified offset plan, so they can go totally carbon neutral. With Tred, your money never funds fossil fuels. Unlike the big banks, who fund oil and gas projects to the tune of hundreds of billions each year. We’re a B Corp and members of 1% For The Planet, so you know with Tred you’re having a positive impact. We’ve built our own world-leading carbon tracking tech to enable accurate carbon tracking, and we’re currently rolling out our latest feature ‘Tred Connect’. This allows you to connect your other bank accounts to Tred, letting you see your total carbon footprint. Tred is in beta right now. If you’re based in the UK you can try it for free. @shubham__dogra Hi Shubham - good question. every time you make a transaction, the retailer pays a small fee called the 'interchange fee'. Normally card providers keep their cut of this fee for themselves, but at Tred, we have committed to using 10% of the revenue we earn from this payment to fund tree-planting projects. 🌳 We have also committed to planting 15,000 trees with the Mastercard Priceless Planet coalition 🌍 We fund different tree planting projects around the world, and the cost per tree differs at each project, so we can't give you an exact ratio of spend in to trees, because it depends on individual projects how many trees they can plant per amount donated. Although each tap of your card only contributes a little bit, over time it'll add up! And importantly, it lets all our customers fight climate change at no extra cost, and without doing anything differently at all.

I think Tred is great. Not only is it straightforward as a bank but the options for offsetting carbon emissions are wide ranging and backed up with info- so you genuinely feel good about doing something for the planet!

I've been using my TRED card both in the UK and when travelling and am increasingly finding it a useful alternative to Monzo. I am looking forward to more innovations down the line and the TRED team are very responsive to feedback and suggestions to make the product even better. The app works very well and really makes you think about your carbon impact, whilst offering genuine ways to offset it. Great business to be interacting with.

I've been using Tred for a few weeks. Considering it's still in Beta phase this is a very impressive product. Love the app design and the easy user interface. I'm still looking for more in ways of user education and evidence of the green innovations by Tred but so far it all looks fabulous and I can't wait to see this company go from strength to strength
