Hey Product Hunt Enthusiasts! A short story about toddle. My name is Andreas and I started working on toddle 4 years ago. Having built web applications for almost two decades, I always felt like there must be a better and simpler way. I joined up with my co-founder Kasper who is an accomplished web designer and who had experienced the very same frustration. Why did we build toddle? Throughout our journey as software developers and designers, we've bumped into an undeniable problem time and time again: building software is just too darn hard! Learning to code takes years, and even after acquiring all those skills, there's a constant need to stay updated with the ever-evolving tech landscape. This daunting reality keeps many people from experiencing the joy of creating something truly unique and sharing it with the world. You see, we love the web and building applications for it. We want the web to be even more amazing, and that means getting more people involved in making great apps. Sure, everyone can learn to code, but the effort and commitment required to build even simple apps mean most people never will. Everyone's got a brilliant app idea tucked away somewhere, but most will never see the light of day. Enter the era of no-code! 🚀 In recent years, we've seen a surge of services like Webflow, Airtable, Zapier, and Notion that empower a new generation of software developers – folks who can build spectacular things without writing a single line of code. From beautiful websites to simple apps, the no-code community is just getting started, and we believe they can achieve so much more with the right tools. That's Where toddle Enters the Scene! Designed for professional software teams but simple enough for solo creators, toddle is here to help you bring your ideas to life. We see toddle as a no-code tool for professionals but accessible to everyone. We have built toddle on many of the battle-proven learnings from major code frameworks such as Angular, Vue and React but packaged it into a no-code setup. We want you to be able to get started and create that idea you’ve always wanted without the need for an entire development team behind you.

Good luck! What's the main difference between toddle and Bubble?

@alexandra_quiet Great question. toddle and bubble both lets you build interactive web applications, but the approach we take is is quite different. toddle is based on the same ideas that every modern web framework is using today. This means that toddle is both quite simple at its core, but also highly performant ans scalable. We recommend trying out the different platforms and see which works best for you :)

@alexandra_quiet we have designed toddle to be accessible for everyone. If you are a little familiar with HTML and CSS or have used tools like webflow and framer before you should find toddle very easy to get started with. That being said toddle is a powerful platform that lets you build very complex apps (Like the toddle editor itself) and some aspects are definitely more challenging. @vera_mur Yes, we do have templates in toddle — and some default elements to insert — but this is where we will expand going forward: offering people more default components, preferably made by our community 🙂👍

@kasper_svenning I'd suggest taking a look at the Relume Library for Webflow - https://library.relume.io/. They have unstyled webflow components and a Figma file to go with it, which makes it a crazy useful tool in Webflow when you want a 'custom' site but don't need to build everything from scratch. Would love to see something like it for web apps!

As someone used to Webflow, I like how easy it is to connect to API's and get real data into your app and the fact that you can collaborate on your project. Can't wait to use all the possibilities with this powerfull tool!

Toddle empowers users to create sleek web apps effortlessly while maintaining full data control, also surprisingly to see your site also created by Toddle it self. I notice it's free. How do you make income to serve the users? or will you inquire with site owner once their site attains significant traffic? IMHO, it's best to clarify the pricing structure for users initially. Anyway, you got my upvote, collected & supported, good luck!

@maxtpham Hey max. We are not quite ready to announce our pricing yet. Toddle will always have a free option the lets you try it out and build small projects. The payed plans will include - custom domains - removing the "built in toddle" badge - high traffic sites

Hey! Great product, have a good launch! Are you planning to add possibility to build not only web apps, but also Android and iOS applications?

@dzianis_yatsenka Great question... Probably not. At least not anytime soon. We want to enable people to build great web applications that are super fast and has great SEO plus accessiblilty. That is incredibly hard to do across different platforms, and as a result the product that do offer this feature ends up compromising in one or more of theese areas. For mobile development, I have heard that adalo and Flutterflow are really good.
