Who? This tool is for anyone that periodically finds themselves forgetting what they were trying to accomplish while online. The tool was built by Victor and Vlad, two ex-founders and ex-Facebookers who want to improve how people interact with their devices. What? This is an early prototype of a bigger idea we have regarding how AI can be used to shape focus and productivity. Why? Time and attention is precious. We've noticed that existing tools (timers and blockers) are not up to the scale of the challenge. By using AI to understand your goals, behaviors, and motivational preferences, we can build tools that permanently improve focus and productivity. We launched this prototype for feedback so please don't hold back! Where? We started on Chrome as a fast and flexible environment for iteration. Many people have requested an iOS and Android version, so we will build there next. When? Try it out right now and let us know what you think!

@inactive_user_ Would be great to have the option for locked down mode that doesn’t give as many choices when the time runs out. Fewer choices means easier to make the right decision.
Vladimir Korshin
@a_p40 We agree. We'd like to enable in a variety of focus interventions that either the user or the AI can implement.

@inactive_user_ well done! Elegant solution and much needed.

This tool would be especially helpful if there was a calendar integration to suggest focus topics based on projects, meetings, or focus blocks on my calendar! Love the simple UI flows & overlays that don't feel time-consuming or effortful to interact with amidst the tast at hand.. well done!
Vladimir Korshin
@ellen_free2 Great ideas! We've barely scratched the surface of what is possible with this type of tool.

Will there be a way to review metrics, meaning time spent on tasks, time spent distracted, etc? Would be great to see habits over a period of time. This tool is going to be extremely useful in my industry or any other that’s billing-driven. Great work and looking forward to iOS versions.
Victor Laguna
@margarita_kutsin Thanks for the feedback! Definitely our next iterations are going to be around improving the AI models for better accuracy and work on analytics for users.

Extremely necessary nowadays! Specially for me, as a student, will help me to stay focused and be more productive. Great job!
Victor Laguna
@tassyla_golino We believe students will benefit a ton with this tool!

Tiempo keeps me on track when I need to focus! The built-in AI does an excellent job of identifying when I am distracted, and nudging me back to what I need to work on.

This is an amazing MVP. I have been looking for this kind of app for a while now. How do you ensure data safety? Are you working with screenshots?
Vladimir Korshin
@mcsnackyu Great question Tim. The tool does sample some text from certain websites to understand context but there are multiple safeguards in place to protect privacy. It never collects digits, or emails, nor does it run on potentially sensitive sites. We also have more work to do on this front to make it as privacy oriented as possible.
Tim de jong
@inactive_user_ Amazing, that sounds really good

Would love to use a tool like this! So many use cases for consumers and enterprises!
Vladimir Korshin
@alex_choy Thanks Alex. We think so too. Much work to do!

Great application for AI. The more you use it the better it gets. Already sharing it with friends who struggle to stay focused when working remote.

Very excited about Tiempo! I want this to be integrated with my phone! Hopefully soon

Tiempo is so cool! Some random thoughts here: maybe we could utilize some techs from Pomodoro Timer here. For example, set a 5 mins break by default after each session for users to take a break and relax.
Victor Laguna
@yisong_wang thanks for the feedback! Good idea.

I love the idea for individuals that have jobs/projects with focused initiatives. Some roles require jumping around (ex: shifting attention to answering a time-sensitive client question) with limited access to blocks of dedicated web time.

This is a great way of using AI to get around the limitations of existing productivity apps. In my experience, most of these products don't work because my work often involves using the exact products that these tools block (e.g. finding answers on Reddit, watching tutorials on YouTube, etc).
Vladimir Korshin
@bmosk9 Thanks B, that's one of the main use cases for AI over traditional blockers. We have a lot of work to do to get the accuracy high enough to avoid frustration.

Congrats on the launch! The biggest problem with screen time trackers are that the line between work and distractions is so thin! I use Twitter for marketing, but I also get distracted on it and waste hours when I should be working. So I was excited to get access to the demo and try it out. I have similar feedback to others - I want to see metrics on time distracted vs working. And if it can tell between productive Twitter and not productive Twitter and reflect that - that would help a ton. I'm not a fan of the in-your-face nudges when I'm off task. I tend to ignore them. I'd much rather let myself be distracted in the moment, but review and reflect on that time later and try to be better next time.
Vladimir Korshin
@bagelsangranola thank you for the thoughtful feedback. That's an interesting perspective that you don't like to be nudged when off-task. Do you think you'll be able to make a meaningful change through the data insights alone or do you envision some other mechanism to drive behavior.
MIDIAM CONRADO GOLINO
It seems everyone has difficulties focusing on the goals with so many distractions. Tiempo can surely help on that.
Michael Kirk
Congrats on the launch. My biggest pieces of feedback would be considering less intrusive nudges to get back on task and analytics on time spent. Love the simple ui and how fast it was to get started!
Vladimir Korshin
@michael_kirk1 Thank you. We will work on more creative ways to present the friction (nudges).

congrats on the launch! can't wait to try!
Vladimir Korshin
@morrisz Thank you! You can try it now on any Chrome browser. We have many improvements to make but we appreciate your input in the interim.

I’m excited to see where you take this as you build it out! I think there are so many untapped opportunities using LLMs to better productivity. I like that you started with a browser plug-in, and can imagine even more powerful versions of this that pair with you throughout the day in a similar way.
Vladimir Korshin
@rickfuman We very much agree. Connecting this to calendars, project management tools, and much else could make it much more powerful.
Kelly Huynh
Tiempo has solid value! I'm appreciating the basic UI. The simpler the better for focus tools. Looking forward to how you'll expand!
