I wanted to simplify understanding who the candidates are. Pros: 4M+ comments/tweets analyzed, Nice UI Cons: Some Stale analytics, Lack of Ability to Filter by Text (Coming Soon)

cool! btw, out of curiosity, the screenshot here shows "The most analytical candidate is Tom Steyer," but https://hey.ai/candidates now says it's Bernie Sanders. do those preview insights change often?
Hari Rajagopalan
@schnarfed we're continuously scraping new tweets about the candidate/by the candidate and modifying. however, those two candidates were removed from the insights since they dropped out of the race.
Wasim Qamar
@schnarfed @hari_rajagopalan but averages below shows Tom Steyer but TLDR shows Berney Sanders. TL;DR is rigged :p
Naresh Nadaiyazhagan
This will save a lot of time when analyzing. Nice!

tl;dr insights = hardcoded bias, not analytics.
Hari Rajagopalan
@rye_greenhalgh the tones/sentiments are calculated by using IBM Watson's Tone Generator or NLTK Sentiment models respectively. The insights are just the candidate who has the MAX(AVERAGE(that specific tone)) so they could not be less biased. You can dive into individual candidate insights above or view averages(below)

Good concept

Awesome! Congrats!!

Another interesting insight could be which keywords people have the most positive sentiment with. Could be good to figure out ad spend.
Hari Rajagopalan
@josephlstalcup Yes! Will release search soon, so people can look at this. But since that would require a lot of searches, will figure out some way of combing thru and figuring out top keyword sentiments.

I like the ability to filter analytics by time; how will we know when there’s more data?
Eloir Miorando
How much time did it take to scrape 4 Million posts?
Hari Rajagopalan
@eloirmiorando Started scraping nearly 3 months ago; the unfortunate part was that three candidates dropped out during the last couple of days of building LOL so should have def launched earlier and done more of a streaming data over time thing.
Nia Williams
This might be a cool thing to expose as general analytics for other Twitter accounts as well. I'd pay to see other candidates
Hari Rajagopalan
@niawilliams Hey Nia, We do have a personal version where you can run on your own Twitter Account: https://hey.ai/candidates
Eric Wagner
You should mark which candidates are still active. There's a little bit of clutter with inactive candidates.
Hari Rajagopalan
@ericwagner_ Yep coming soon! Sorry about the clutter, but hopefully useful to see some of the older candidates.
Chas Edwards
How do these tones correlate with how a candidate is doing?
Hari Rajagopalan
@chasedwards We haven't mapped this out yet, but let me see if there's an easy way to overlay with public poll data.
Gilberto Penton
I really like the UI; is there a way to subscribe to insights? that piece seems useful for folks who don't want to comb thru data.
Aaron Chester
This must have cost of a lot of money to build. Did you look into open source alternatives for NLP?

Another interesting insight could be which keywords people have the most positive sentiment with. Could be good to figure out ad spend.
Deanna Biron
A few years ago, there was a questionnaire people filled out that would highlight which candidate to vote for. While the raw data is cool, maybe you can ask people questions and map it against the data. They might actually change who they vote for.

Congrats on the launch. Looking forward to more features

The apprroach shown is really cool.

Great work, love big data analytics. P.S. It is not possible to scroll the tables to the left/right on cellphone, but it works great on PC.

Good tool for voters to make an informed choice before voting.
