Hey Hunters!
TalentDojo is a free tool that allows you to generate an anonymised resume from a Linkedin profile URL.
It could be useful for recruiters who don't want to share all of the candidates information with a potential client.
Let me know if you find it useful!
Thanks, Aaron
@ricardo_luz At this moment I'm open to the direction this project takes from here. I'm super curious as to how you see the product being useful for research and talent analysis, would love to hear more!
@cyriljeet Really good question. I certainly think it could go either way.
I created it after having a conversation with my friend who works in recruitment for a small agency. He was giving me feedback on one of my other products (vitaely.me) and realised it would be useful for his agency to generate templated, anonymised resumes from Linkedin profiles so they didn't have to manually create these documents.
The scope of this launch is much smaller than that vision but delivers on the basic core value of generating anonymised resumes from Linkedin.
If more recruiters saw the value in this then I may pursue it further!
Fun and cool-looking! Nice work. One suggestion: consider having public static URLs for each profile. This way, after someone completes the process, they receive a shareable link, like https://www.talentdojo.io/resume... or something similar.
@nicocaramella Very sensible suggestion, makes a lot of sense! Definitely something I'll look to add. My other projec that this was inspired by (vitaely.me) does have shareable links already!
@narendra_solanki Thank you very much for checking out the product and for the extremely kind words! do you have experience working in talent acquisition?
@butler952 Yes, I do have experience in talent acquisition and I'm quite familiar with the challenges and opportunities in the field. I'm genuinely impressed by what Talent Dojo offers and how it could simplify and improve the recruitment process. If you ever need feedback, insights, or any sort of assistance, I'd be more than happy to help. Keep up the fantastic work!
Absolutely thrilled with your productβit's both intuitive and flawless in execution.
Congratulations on the successful launch @butler952 ! Though it's a straightforward tool, it fills a need perfectly.
My suggestion would be to consider offering a limited demo for guests (like you have right now, but limited at like 5), while introducing a subscription model for bulk usage. Keep up the excellent work!
@mrasero I'm very excited that you like it!
I think you're absolutely right about limited the number of resumes and charging for bulk packages or subscriptions after that. Definitely something I'll explore implementing π οΈ
@wickedmishra Will definitely need to do something about that at some point π
Options are:
- Limiting to 3 free resumes and then pay for a package/subscription after that
- Pay to export (download or share link)
- Ads
I love the simplicity of this product!I definitely see how recruiters will find it a time-saver.
When you hide the name and then download the PDF, the PDF's name has the candidates name. I understand that the recruiter needs to know what candidate they've anonymised, but I found it "unexpected". An alternative could be to assign the PDF a name such as "Candidate-{timestamp}.pdf", or even let the user write the name before downloading the PDF. Just throwing some ideas at you ;)
Congrats on the launch and the great idea!
@yisusazo Thanks for taking the time to check it out and leave your feedback, glad you like it!
That's a really excellent pointβI'll add that the roadmap to change the filename if you choose to anonymise the name of the candidate. Great idea! π‘
The option to choose how to anonymize the resume adds an extra layer of privacy and control, ensuring that users can confidently share their credentials with clients while protecting their personal information. Well done team
Congrats, @butler952! Resume building can be intimidating especially if it's been a while since updating last. I am having trouble getting to your site on Chrome FYI, get an error: Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).
@kingromstar Very fair question.
This was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend who is in recruitment. They were giving feedback on my previous product; vitaely.me.
They worked in a recruitment agency where they would often get candidate information from a resume or Linkedin profile, and manually copy and paste it into their agencies template, whilst making sure to anonymise it along the way.
They suggested that it might be useful to generate an anonymised resume into a standardised template for their agency.
Whilst talentdojo.io doesn't allow you to set up your own templates, it does allow you to generate a anonymised resumes from just a Linkedin profile URL, which is the basic core value my friend was hoping to achieve.
Congrats on the launch, @butler952 & team!!
How are you doing the LinkedIn import, Linkedin doesn't provide an API as I remember?
Also, I do have a couple of suggestions for the product:
- it would be great if Talent Dojo could offer different anonymization options, such as hiding specific companies or job titles. This would allow users to tailor their resumes even more effectively.
- it would be valuable to have a feature that automatically scans the resume for keywords and provides suggestions on how to optimize it for specific job applications?
I'll definitely give it a try and provide more detailed feedback after testing it out. Keep up the great work!
@felixhaberle Thanks for checking it out!
You're absolutely right. Linkedin are famously not willing to hand over access to their API to many products. I'm using https://nubela.co/proxycurl/link... to get around it.
Great suggestions! When you say hiding specific companies or job titles, what do you think the key benefit would be of doing this for some but not all?
The suggestions for how to improve would be very good, could be a pro feature of some sort !
@jonied Hmm that definitely shouldn't be happeningβneed to be better at throwing an error state instead of showing that it's still in progress!
Apologies! You can try using my Linkedin profile URL as an example (https://www.linkedin.com/in/butl...) which should work
