@dmitrievstan Not even if you always play silent background 'music' and then make the album art dynamically change and when you use the 'track controls' the app switches the 'album art' to be the article?
Okay, that's a terrible idea (and probably hasn't even worked for a few versions of iOS).
@willimholte A bit missing the idea, sorry. So you mean, when you press to play the next song, the article changes to the album cover picture and the title of the song? Isn't it getting too Complex?
What we will do in a later version, is add music controls to the top left part of the lock screen.
Good to see an Android first approach, but this could get a little distracting, once I lock my screen I kind of hope to limit my distraction level to a minimal
@acondurache You mean that you want, so there would be no extra information on the lock screen? With Swipe, you really don't read it unless you really want it, so it doesn't become distracting. At least that is my experience for the last 2 months. ;)
Like most people here, this is the sort of thing that makes me curious about Android more than any other feature/app missing from iOS.
At the same time, I bet I'd have a hard time using it, I am pretty ruthless about the notifications that I allow on my lock screen—if I hit my power button and see *anything* I want it to be something that requires immediate action.
Edit: So mostly just Taptalk notifications about pictures of @thetylerhayes coffee.
@willimholte that's the great thing with news, notifications are something that affect your privacy, news don't since it is something publicly available anyways. The immediate action in future will be the ability to swipe down for "read later" the article that you like. Otherwise unlock the phone as usual. :)
If Taptalk picture feed is offered as RSS, we can easily make it work with the app.
@dmitrievstan For me it's more about the expectation of my lock screen being static unless there is something new I need to respond to. I totally get the desire for having dynamic content on lock screens, but that would (probably) get in my way.
I'm certainly willing to be wrong of course/try it as soon as I can next time I carry android for a while.
@willimholte Ok, now I got your point, misunderstood it in the beginning. If you like static, I guess standard solution is great for you. My personal value with Swipe is that I don't need to open the browser to read news. Especially since you see same articles if you go the resources every 3-4 hours.
@normanliang I agree with you, I think if you are an information driven person Android is the way to go. You can consume it that way you like it which is very handy!
