We've built an AI-powered search engine for businesses that bid on government contracts. Companies like Flexport currently use us to find federal freight shipping contracts.
Finding government contracts on SAM.gov is a nightmare, especially for small businesses. The current system is cluttered, hard to navigate, and relies heavily on keyword search, which often leads to irrelevant results - discouraging businesses looking for contract opportunities. The clunky UI adds another layer of complexity, creating an overall frustrating experience.
Sweetspot utilizes a combination of semantic and lexical search to streamline the process of searching for government contracts. Businesses can now find relevant opportunities with just one query, eliminating the need for multiple keyword searches to do hours-long research. You can even use our scheduled queries feature to automate this process, so that you get email notifications everytime a new relevant contract is posted.
@philip_kung, @andrew_arkhipov, and I have all known each other since freshman year of college. We went from competing in hackathons together to working on AI, ML, and search algorithms at companies such as Coinbase, Meta, Nuro, Amazon, and Chicago Trading Company. We’re excited to bring our extremely technical skillset to government contracting, an industry where software has been stagnant for the past 40 years.

@ricardo_luz Hey Ricardo! Biggest challenge is definitely aggregating state and local contract data since it’s spread out across so many different websites, for now we just have federal data and are going to be adding grants such as SBIRS and STTRS very soon.
And yes, users can set very specific criteria for the email notifications!

I'm curious to know how your search algorithm works. How does Sweetspot ensure that it provides the most relevant contracts to businesses? Does it consider factors like location, industry, or previous bidding history?
@felixhaberle Hi Felix! For now, it considers location and industry and any services that your business offers (AI Profile). We also have additional advanced filters in place for things like NAICS codes, Set-Aside Codes, Solicitation Types, and more.
We’re going to be adding previous bidding history in the near future.
