Spiti is your internal video knowledge base and library. Except, access to any video is super easy. We help you store, organize, and easily access all your team's internal video content.
Hello Product Hunt π
Thanks, @sanketsaurav for hunting us.
Therese and Sai here, makers of Spiti. We are super excited (and nervous!) launching Spiti to the PH community, a community that we have admired for a long time. After months of hard work, we are finally ready to show you what we have been building. π§‘
Spiti is a private, internal YouTube for your team.
Now, you no longer have to search for your team videos in your cloud storage or links shared via emails or Slack channels.
How do we solve this? We thought of the best companies that have made video consumption a second nature. They got something right. That brought us to playlists and auto-play. We then set out to build playlists so you can systematically organize videos into relevant playlists. This made internal information quickly and meaningfully accessible.
We build Spiti to put an end to our own personal woes. The number of videos in our team kept increasing and the problem of easy access became more evident.
Here is a highlight of Spiti's best features so far:
π Centralised video library for all your team videos.
π₯ Rewatch all videos from anywhere and at your own convenient time.
π§ Organise videos in relevant playlists to facilitate sequential and meaningful consumption.
π’ Add one video to more than one playlist.
π Add detailed descriptions to all your videos.
β₯οΈ Heart videos that you like.
π Add comments in the comment section to keep the conversation going.
π One-click import of all your Zoom recordings.
π₯ Import videos from your local machine.
π³ Share your playlist with folks outside your organization by creating a public link.
β‘ Delete video and playlists that you want to retire.
π Easy search.
π Role based-access control
Thank you for staying with us. Let us know what you think about the "playlist" functionality and any other feedback that you may have.
Oh, and one more thing. We have a welcome gift for you. Look for our Promo code.
@anna_0x Hey Anna! Your comment made me so happy. You are perhaps the only person who caught that. β₯οΈ
Yes, that was deliberate. There is a long story behind that. So here goes-
My initial product was an early-stage home app for teams. Hence Spiti.
I then pivoted and focused only on internal videos for teams. So, it's now a home for all your internal videos. ππ½ I love the name regardless and it stuck.
@anna_0x I guess it's time for me to visit Greece. I was stuck in Athens airport for a day very recently, and man, people in Greece are the nicest. π€π
We at DeepSource have been using Spiti for a while now and it's very convenient for us to have in-house videos at one place. Overall easy to navigate and explore.
Congratulations! Solid use case and a clean product.
Curious -- what's your target market segment? >=Mid sized companies (500+ employees) would have a multitude of places where they store videos and may require integrations to adopt Spiti.
Also curious -- named after the valley?
@kirank5a Thanks, Kiran ππ½
Yes, you're right about that. Our target market is a narrow focus at the moment β early to mid stage start ups would be the right fit for Spiti atm. Moreover, companies with 500+ employees have additional problems along with the video storage, access, and distribution. To handle that, we have to build a few more capabilities in the product, which is on the road map, but not for the immediate future.
Spiti means "home" in Greek. I had initially set out to build a 'home app' for teams, but pivoted after a few months. I love the name and now Spiti is a home for your team's videos π³
@theresemaggie -- sounds great! Narrow is the way to go in the early days. I'm bookmarking Spiti (indeed good name, btw) for the time we'll need it. All the best!
It's been so long since I've wanted a private YouTube for my team, and Spiti's positioning doesn't disappoint. I'm super excited to hunt this for @theresemaggie and @saibhavateja β as a founding team, they've spent so much time on this problem, and it shows in the product.
Ever since COVID hit and our team went more asynchronous, we realized we were producing more and more videos but completely lacked a central place to store them. Some were in Google Drive, some were tucked away in some Notion doc, some were utterly inaccessible in private Zoom recordings, while some were unlisted YouTube videos. We started using Spiti to organize all these videos in a single place, and it worked beautifully.
If your team creates internal videos or shares Zoom meeting recordings frequently, using Spiti is a no-brainer. All the best to the founders on the launch! β¨
@alchead_m_
Absolutely. We figured that given a choice between videos and documents for a quick and engaging learning experience, we prefer videos. And teams create a lot of videos which serves as the first class documentation of a team's collective knowledge.
If team's had easy access to these videos then ramping up, learning new content, revisiting old discussions, etc. would happen much faster.
Hey @theresemaggie and @saibhavateja congratulations on the launch. Thanks for featuring my testimonial. Introducing Spiti to the team has made my job as a developer and mentor much easier, it's really easy to revisit old product meetings, brown bag sessions and code walkthroughs. Our communication as a team is much more succinct and meaningful.
The attention to detail, focusing on the things that matter is the best quality of the product the makers have built here. For any remote team, I'd strongly recommend just giving this an honest try. It is all it claims to be, an internal YouTube for your team, without all the clutter. πͺ
@scmmishra Thanks for the honest testimonial!
We are over the moon to learn you've found great value using Spiti for your team. And yes, to save time, preserve rich team knowledge, and make it easily accessible to your team is our mission. We are glad you have been able to benefit from it.
And, really appreciate the recommendation. ππ½
This is a no-brainer of sorts for any team. At WTF, Spiti has simplified cataloguing our remote product demos. Especially the integrations with Zoom and Slack has been π₯π₯π₯
All the best @saibhavateja and team for the launch. ππππ
@sriram_kansala Thanks, Sriram ππ½
Glad to know. Would love for you to try Spiti out. I'd be happy to give you a product demo too. I'm at therese@spiti.xyz.
I love this idea, we've been using loom but this would be perfect for longer form videos where we need the team to be able to access them much easier than having to dig through YouTube or something weird. I'll check it out!
This looks fantastic. I signed up for the original beta but didn't get around to testing it out. A lot of potential with this for internal education and collaboration. I do have a question though: When you reach the 100 -video maximum, can you pull down old videos no longer needed in order to publish new videos?
@brandonhull Hey Brandon! ππΌSo good to see you back. Yes, I remember seeing your name on our beta list.
We are super stoked to see you just upgraded to our PRO plan.
And yes, you can delete your videos at anytime β either cause it's retired or to clear up space.
There is a demo playlist up on your workspace where I explain how you can do that.
You can find 'how to delete a video' in the second video (Part II).

In my previous company videos were scattered across multiple Google Drive folders and was a pain to manage and disseminate internally. We started using Spiti to host our engineering walkthroughs and onboarding videos and it has been a seamless experience. Kudos on the launch!
