Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Nikita, co-founder and CEO. We are super excited to show you SpiritMe! We have worked hard on the technology and now it’s time to share it. Our goal is to create something that benefits you, and you are the reason we're doing all of this. ✨ Our team has been working with digital avatars for several years. We started SpiritMe because we wanted to learn how to convert the essence of being human into a digital form. Text-to-video services with avatars do exist now, but we decided to focus on creating user avatars, a process which should be both simple and fast. Why use strangers for your content when it could be you who presents it? The problem with digital avatars is that they lack charisma. These days, it may be hard to tell whether a video is real or synthesized, but watching the latter for more than a few minutes is sooo boring. That’s why we wanted to make an engine of personalized facial expressions. With it, the avatars can change their face based on the context. I want to stress that it may be very useful and applicable even in teaching and learning. The name of the avatar is also promising , it reminds you of a human being and of the power of man over nature. I have some questions: have you thought of using SpiritMe in education? Does it requre some special "training"?

@alex_kostin Yes, I am. My idea is to use SpiritMe in teaching people correct pronunciation. If the avatar can find the phonetic mistake, classify it and explain the way to correct it. Maybe what I want is too much at this stage of the investigation but the program of this kind will be very helpful and demanding.

@vlivashkin The only thing I can think of is preparing myself for the shoot. I spent some time picking out the clothes, the subjects behind me, and creating beautiful lighting in the room. But I think that's the time I would have had to spend anyway if I were recording myself on video. It would have been nice to have a short tutorial with information on how best to prepare for the shoot.

@sergey_afanasyev we're working right now on improving the shooting process. Including adding lots of helpful hints at all stages of creating an avatar. How in-depth does the pre-shoot description have to be for it to really help you?

@immortal_macko yes, you can capture your image using the green screen. Then you will be able to put any background you want when generating a video. A picture, a video, anything 🙂

Others think that there will be some technology that recognizes and tags all such videos on the Internet. The future will show.

As someone who is not comfortable on camera, this is the perfect solution. I can still create videos with a personal touch, without actually appearing on camera myself.

@akash_dixit3 As I understand, you still have to spend around five minutes on camera to have the footage necessary to become an avatar. But the good thing that nobody gets to see that footage!

@imarny I had experience in creating custom avatars (for text-to-video platform too), and there the technology required reading the text on a professional camera from 2 hours)) and here it’s literally 5 minutes

@imarny there are services which can generate talking head video by just one photo, but the result is unrealistic. 3.5 minutes at 60fps is the balance we found between realism and usability. We are working on reducing the dataset length without loss in quality
