This thing looks amazing. I could see a ton of uses ranging from startups doing customer development (sorry, LaunchRock) to premium newsletters (like the original Foundation from @kevinrose) to Mom and Pop shop's selling a simple service.

@rklusas I'm one of the founders of Spaces. Thanks for the addition and kind words Russ. If there's any questions I'll be more than happy to answer them.

@rklusas Also checkout Subbly and Cratejoy hunted earlier.

Reminds me of http://cratejoy.com which I am an investor. There is a growing need for this type of service. I think the opportunity is big.

@joshkerr Agreed, my girlfriend was looking to start a box subscription service about a year ago and was discouraged by the logistical overhead this now solves.
Derek Shanahan
@joshkerr Is Cratejoy ever going to launch publicly? Been a while!

Thanks for posting. Will definitely check this out. Been looking to move off a mix of other platforms and get on a single stack. Looked at Cratejoy, but waiting till they are in public beta or fully launched. I only have one actual product but need a very specific recurring timeframe for it. Also I assume custom domains are on the roadmap?

This is very nicely done. @danschultzer I have some feedback on the onboarding experience. Happy to share over email if you're interested (hrishimittal @ gmail).
Dan Schultzer
@hrishio Thanks, I've sent you an email.

At Startup Weekend currently and have just given CrateJoy a try, which is now open to everyone. We had a couple major issues with it though, and are now taking a look at Spaces. My first impression is that it's a lot cleaner, and is more intuitive. We need to be able to bill quarterly (not monthly/yearly) though, so may not work for us

Great idea. Was recently looking for something like Spaces.pe to help my girlfriend launch a subscription business. Haven't done a deep dive because some functionality is broken for me (see below), but from what I've seen so far I would prioritize a few very basic features for themes and content layout. I've had trouble getting the text in the header to save. Tried Chrome and Safari. Hope the kinks are worked out quickly.
Dan Schultzer
@tacomanator Sorry to hear that. The green bar in the top will suggest if there is anything being saved, and before you can go to another page the editor should prompt you in case there is some unsaved changes. It might have been a connectivity issue. I would be more than happy to help you out. Feel free to contact us directly anytime Drew https://spaces.pe/contact
Dan Schultzer
@tacomanator Also thanks for the feature suggestions. We're discussing such additions currently in the team.

We've looked at a couple of ideas here, but haven't gotten to launch on them yet. How flexible is your billing structure? I.e. can the subscription amount change due to customer decision (add something, change something that changes the base cost?)
Dan Schultzer
@SacBookReviewer You can add variants to a product subscription, that will add an additional cost to the base cost of your product. If you change the subscription product cost later on, all subscriptions will be updated with the new cost. Let me know if this covers your questions Ross.
Dan Schultzer
@SacBookReviewer Here's an example of variants used to add to the base cost: https://spaces.pe/s/15sC/product...

@_danfriedman, weren't you exploring something like this at Ribbon awhile ago?
Tara Reed
@danschultzer can we assume that your fees are on top of whatever Stripe, Paypal, etc charge?
Dan Schultzer
@TaraReed_ Yes, it will be on top of the fee for the gateway you are using.
